Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji dan mengidentifikasi perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis dan self-esteem siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan model CORE (Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting, Extending) ditinjau dari sudut pandang gender dan aktivitas spiritual Islam. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian quasi experiment dengan menggunakan desain two-group pretest-posttest design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas VIII di salah satu sekolah menengah pertama Islam terpadu di Kabupaten Bandung Barat. Terdapat 59 siswa kelas delapan yang menjadi sampel dalam penelitian ini yang terbagi dalam dua kelas berdasarkan gender. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis pada materi SPLDV, angket self-esteem, dan angket aktivitas spiritual Islam. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan analisis parametrik dan non parametrik. Hasil dari penelitian adalah: (1) tidak terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis antara siswa perempuan dan siswa laki-laki yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan model CORE; (2) terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis antara siswa dengan kategori aktivitas spiritual Islam sedang dan tinggi yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan model CORE; (3) tidak terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis antara siswa perempuan dengan aktivitas spiritual Islam kategori sedang dan tinggi yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan model CORE, sedangkan pada siswa laki-laki menunjukkan adanya perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis; (4) terdapat perbedaan peningkatan self-esteem antara siswa perempuan dan siswa laki-laki yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan model CORE; (5) terdapat perbedaan peningkatan self-esteem antara siswa dengan kategori aktivitas spiritual Islam sedang dan tinggi yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan model CORE; (6) tidak terdapat perbedaan peningkatan self-esteem antara siswa perempuan dengan aktivitas spiritual Islam kategori sedang dan tinggi yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan model CORE, sedangkan pada siswa laki-laki menunjukkan adanya perbedaan peningkatan self-esteem. This research aims to examine and identify differences in improving mathematical communication skills and self-esteem for students who receive learning using the CORE (Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting, Extending) model from the perspective of gender and Islamic spiritual activities. This research is a quasi-experimental research using a two-group pretest-posttest design. The population in this study were eighth-grade students at one of the integrated Islamic junior high schools in West Bandung Regency. There were 59 eighth-grade students sampled in this study who were divided into two classes based on gender. The instruments used were a test of mathematical communication skills on SPLDV material, a self-esteem questionnaire, and an Islamic spiritual activity questionnaire. Data analysis in this research uses parametric and non-parametric analysis. The results of the research are: (1) there is no difference in the increase in mathematical communication skills between female and male students who received learning using the CORE model; (2) there is a difference in increasing mathematical communication skills between students with medium and high Islamic spiritual activity categories who receive learning using the CORE model; (3) there is no difference in the increase in mathematical communication skills between female students with medium and high categories of Islamic spiritual activity who receive learning using the CORE model, while male students show a difference in the increase in mathematical communication skills; (4) there is a difference in increasing self-esteem between female and male students who receive learning using the CORE model; (5) there is a difference in increasing self-esteem between students with medium and high Islamic spiritual activity categories who receive learning using the CORE model; (6) there is no difference in increasing self-esteem between female students with medium and high categories of Islamic spiritual activity who receive learning using the CORE model, while male students show a difference in increasing self-esteem.
