Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi rendahnya kemampuan mahasiswa dalam menulis artikel. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan model Genre-Based Writing melalui penguatan literasi kritis dalam pembelajaran menulis artikel ilmiah di perguruan tinggi. Dalam penelitian ini digunakan metode Research and Development dengan desain Four-D dari Thiagarajan dengan tahapan define (pendefinisian), design (perancangan), develop (pengembangan), dan disseminate (penyebaran). Partisipan yang terlibat dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa dan dosen dari lima institusi perguruan tinggi. Mahasiswa yang terlibat dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 211, sedangkan dosen berjumlah 20 orang. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu tes, studi dokumentasi, angket, dan wawancara. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah teknik analisis data kualitatif deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan awal mahasiswa dalam menulis artikel ilmiah tergolong cukup. RPS yang digunakan dosen telah memenuhi standar. Rancangan awal model dalam penelitian ini mengadaptasi model Joyce & Weill. Pengembangan model meliputi validasi ahli yang menunjukkan model layak digunakan. Hasil pengujian pengembangan menunjukkan bahwa hasil uji terbatas dan uji luas terdapat peningkatan yang signifikan antara kemampuan awal dan akhir mahasiswa dalam menulis artikel ilmiah setelah perlakuan pengembangan model Genre-Based Writing melalui penguatan literasi kritis dalam pembelajaran menulis artikel ilmiah. Dengan demikian pengembangan model GBWPLK dalam pembelajaran menulis artikel ilmiah efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan mahasiswa dalam pembelajaran menulis artikel ilmiah di perguruan tinggi. Produk akhir dari penelitian ini berupa buku panduan model GBWPLK dalam pembelajaran menulis artikel ilmiah di perguruan tinggi. Implikasi dari penelitian ini bagi para dosen ialah dapat menjadikan model GBWPLK ini sebagai salah satu alternatif dalam pembelajaran menulis artikel ilmiah, bagi mahasiswa yaitu dapat mengasah keterampilan menulis artikel ilmiahn dan literasi kritis sehingga dapat menyusun artikel ilmiah yang memenuhi syarat untuk penyelesaian studinya dan dapat mempublikasikannya pada jurnal. Adapun bagi peneliti lain yang akan melakukan penelitian yang relevan dengan penelitian ini berimplikasi sebagai pembanding atau pijakan untuk penelitian yang dilaksanakannya. This research is motivated by the low ability of students in writing articles. This study aims to produce a Genre-Based Writing model through strengthening critical literacy in learning to write scientific articles in higher education. This study used the Research and Development method with Thiagarajan's Four-D design with the stages of define, design, develop, and disseminate. The participants involved in this study were students and lecturers from five higher education institutions. The students involved in this study totalled 211, while the lecturers totalled 20 people. The data collection techniques used were tests, documentation studies, questionnaires, and interviews. The data analysis technique used was descriptive qualitative data analysis technique. The results of this study indicate that the initial ability of students in writing scientific articles is considered sufficient. The RPS used by lecturers has met the standards. The initial design of the model in this study adapted the Joyce & Weill model. Model development includes expert validation which shows the model is feasible to use. The results of development testing showed that the results of limited and broad tests showed a significant improvement between the initial and final abilities of students in writing scientific articles after the treatment of developing Genre-Based Writing models through strengthening critical literacy in learning to write scientific articles. Thus, the development of the GBWPLK model in learning to write scientific articles is effective for improving students' abilities in learning to write scientific articles in higher education. The final product of this research is a guidebook for the GBWPLK model in learning to write scientific articles in higher education. The implication of this research for lecturers is that they can make this GBWPLK model as an alternative in learning to write scientific articles, for students, namely being able to hone scientific article writing skills and critical literacy so that they can compile scientific articles that meet the requirements for completing their studies and can publish them in journals. As for other researchers who will conduct research relevant to this study, it has implications as a comparison or foothold for the research they carry out.
