Abstract

Menulis dalam pembelajaran bahasa asing, khususnya pada tingkat BIPA 4, merupakan tahap awal keterampilan menulis kompleks dan menantang. Pembelajaran menulis pada tingkat ini memerlukan perhatian khusus dalam penggunaan model pembelajaran yang menyenangkan dan materi pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan pembelajaran menulis BIPA 4. Salah satu alternatif model pembelajaran menyenangkan adalah model Game-based Learning yang dapat dikembangkan dengan materi wawasan Nusantara. Namun saat ini belum ada penelitian yang secara khusus mengembangkan model dengan materi tersebut. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan model Game-based Learning berwawasan Nusantara dalam pembelajaran menulis BIPA 4 menjadi sebuah model baru yang diberi nama GEMARI (Gaet, Edukasi, Main, Aktif, Responsif, dan Interaktif). Melalui metode penelitian R&D dengan model Dick and Carey, penelitian ini menghasilkan instrumen penilaian, sintaks pembelajaran, media pembelajaran, dan materi ajar model Game-based Learning GEMARI berwawasan Nusantara. Hasil pengembangan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa GEMARI memperoleh persentase penilaian sangat baik dari validator ahli model pembelajaran sebesar 84%, validator ahli BIPA sebesar 88%, validator ahli media sebesar 89%. GEMARI secara signifikan meningkatkan skor pemelajar melalui hasil uji coba Single Subject Method dengan rata-rata skor pada baseline 1 sebesar 6.43 (predikat Sedang), intervensi sebesar 6.77 (predikat Sedang), dan baseline 2 sebesar 7.65 (predikat Cukup). Respons positif dari pengajar dan pemelajar BIPA 4 juga menyatakan bahwa GEMARI layak digunakan serta sangat baik dalam menunjang pembelajaran menyenangkan serta dapat memenuhi kebutuhan dalam pembelajaran menulis BIPA 4. Writing in foreign language learning, especially at BIPA 4 level, is the initial stage of complex and challenging writing skills. Writing at this level requires special attention in using fun learning models and learning materials that suit the learning needs. One of an alternative fun learning model is the Game-based Learning model which can be developed with Nusantara insight material. However, currently there is no research that specifically develops this model with Nusantara insight material. Therefore, this research aims to develop a game-based learning model with Nusantara insight in BIPA 4 writing class into a new model called GEMARI (Engage, Education, Play, Active, Responsive and Interactive). Through the R&D research method using the Dick and Carey model, this research produces assessment instruments, learning syntax, learning media, and learning materials for the GEMARI Game-based Learning model with Nusantara insight. The results of this research development show that GEMARI obtained a very good assessment percentage from learning model expert validator of 84%, BIPA expert validator of 88%, media expert validator of 89%. GEMARI significantly increased students scores through the results of the single subject method with an average score at baseline 1 of 6.43 (Average), intervention of 6.77 (Average), and baseline 2 of 7.65 (Above Average). Positive responses from BIPA 4 teachers and students also state that GEMARI is a fun learning model that suit their learning needs in BIPA 4 writing class.
