Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa di sekolah dasar. Rendahnya kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa disebabkan oleh banyak faktor, salah satunya yaitu pemilihan model pembelajaran. Penggunaan model pembelajaran yang kurang mengajak keaktifan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran mengakibatkan siswa mengalami rendah dalam kemampuan membaca pemahaman. Peneliti mencoba menggunakan pembelajaran model pembelajaran Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) dan Students Team Achievement Division (STAD) menggunakan teks berbasis kearifan lokal untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa. Metode yang digunakan adalah quasi experiment dengan desain penelitian nonekuivalen control group design. Perolehan data dilakukan dengan tes (pretest dan post-test) dan lembar observasi. Analisis data yang dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji statistik peningkatan pemahaman membaca siswa (gain), uji normalitas, uji homogenitas serta uji hipotesis yang menggunakan paired sample t test dan independent sample t test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa masih rendah yang disebabkan oleh faktor internal maupun eksternal. Kemampuan membaca pemahaman pada kelas kontrol tidak mengalami perbedaan rata-rata, tetapi pada kelas yang menggunakan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe CIRC dan STAD mengalami perbedaan rata-rata sesudah dan sebelum perlakuan. Peningkatan kemampuan kelas kontrol dengan kelas eksperimen 1 terdapat perbedaan peningkatan, hal ini sama dengan kemampuan kelas kontrol dengan kelas eksperimen 2. Sedangkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas eksperimen 1 dengan eksperimen 2 tidak memiliki perbedaan. Penggunaan model pembelajaran CIRC maupun STAD memiliki kemampuan untuk memberikan kemudahan kepada siswa dalam memahami bacaan yang menggunakan teks berbasis kearifan lokal. This research is motivated by the low reading comprehension skills of elementary school students. The low reading comprehension abilities are caused by various factors, one of which is the selection of the learning model. The use of a learning model that does not encourage student engagement in the learning process results in students experiencing low reading comprehension abilities. The researcher attempted to use the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) and Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) learning models with locally wisdom-based texts to improve students' reading comprehension abilities. The method used is a quasi-experiment with a non-equivalent control group design research design. Data collection was carried out through tests (pretests and posttests) and observation sheets. Data analysis was performed using statistical tests for the increase in students' reading comprehension (gain), normality test, homogeneity test, and hypothesis testing using paired sample t-tests and independent sample t-tests. The results showed that students' reading comprehension abilities were still low due to internal and external factors. There was no significant difference in the average reading comprehension ability in the control class, but in the classes that used cooperative learning models, CIRC and STAD, there was a difference in average scores before and after treatment. The improvement in the reading comprehension ability of the control class compared to experimental class 1 showed a difference, similar to the comparison between the control class and experimental class 2. Meanwhile, there was no significant difference in the reading comprehension abilities between experimental class 1 and experimental class 2. The use of the CIRC and STAD learning models has the ability to facilitate students in understanding texts based on local wisdom.
