Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan peserta didik dalam pemecahan masalah. Hal tersebut disebabkan oleh kemampuan pemecahan masalah peserta didik kurang diberdayakan dan dikembangkan secara optimal dalam pembelajaran, Kemampuan pemecahan masalah merupakan suatu keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi, sehingga untuk meningkatkan nya memerlukan latihan dan pembelajaran. Model pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah peserta didik adalah model Problem Based Learning. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa dalam pembelajaran IPAS menggunakan model Problem Based Learning, faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan respon siswa terhadap model PBL. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif serta teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, tes, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Subjek dari penelitian ini adalah seorang guru kelas IV A dan 22 orang siswa kelas IV A di SD YPU Kota Bandung. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pada pertemuan pertama kemampuan pemecahan masalah mendapat presentasi sebesar 50% berada pada kategori cukup baik, kemudian pada pertemuan kedua meningkat menjadi 81,81% berada pada kategori sangat baik. Kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa dipengaruhi oleh faktor internal dan faktor eksternal. Respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran menggunakan model PBL sangat baik, seluruh siswa merasa sangat senang dengan pembelajaran yang telah dilaksanakan didukung media pembelajaran yang menarik. -------- This research was motivated by the low ability of students in problem solving. This is because students' problem-solving abilities are less empowered and developed optimally in learning. Problem solving abilities is a high-level thinking skill so improving it requires practice and learning. A learning model that can improve students' problem-solving abilities is the Problem Based Learning model. The purpose of this research is to determine students' problem-solving abilities in IPAS learning using Problem Based Learning model, to determine the factors that influence problem solving abilities and students' responses to the PBL model. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method and data collection techniques in the form of observations, tests, interviews and documentation. The subject of this research was a teacher from class IV A and 22 students from class IV A at YPU Elementary School, Bandung City. The results of the research showed that at the first meeting the problem-solving ability got a percentage of 50%, which was in the quite good category, then at the second meeting it increased to 81.81%, which was in the very good category. Students' problem-solving abilities are influenced by internal factors and external factors. The students' response to learning using the Problem Based Learning model was very good, all students felt very happy with the learning that had been carried out supported by interesting learning media.
