Abstract

The low mathematical literacy of Indonesian students viewed from the 2018 PISA survey result in the need for improvement efforts to support mathematical literacy, one of which is through learning process. This study aims to determine the enhancement of junior high school students’ mathematical literacy after obtaining the Question-Answer Relationship Strategy and students’ responses to Pythagorean Theorem Teaching with the Question-Answer Relationship Strategy. This research is a quasi-experimental research design. The population in this study were all eight-grade junior high school students at on of the state junior high school in Bandung Regency. The sample in this study was grade VIII-K as the experimental group and grade VIII-H as the control group. From this study it can be conclude that: 1) Statistically, the students’ enhancement in mathematical literacy who worked under QAR strategy is equal to the students’ enhancement who worked under expocitory strategy; 2) overall, the average of students’ response in learning number patterns with the Question-Answer Relationship Strategy is 71,1, which fills in the positive category.
