Abstract

This research was motivated by problems, namely the student and teacher aspects of learning gymnastics activities at SMA Negeri 4 Cimahi, namely that students felt difficult and afraid when carrying out gymnastics activities and teachers did not apply variations in the learning approach to gymnastics activities at SMA Negeri 4 Cimahi. This research uses the classroom action research (PTK) method. The instruments used are observation, skills tests, documentation, and evaluation. The research sample was students of class X Science 1 SMA Negeri 4 Cimahi consisting of 36 students (10 women and 26 men). From the results of data processing, it was found that the average value of the initial observation up to cycle two actions one for the front roll skill increased by 2.1 from 6.6 to 8.7. Rear roll increased by 2.3 from 6.5 to 8.6. The squat jump obtained an initial score from 6.8 to 8.8 in cycle II action 1. Based on data processing and research results, the Application of Dominant Movement Patterns (PGD) can improve learning outcomes for gymnastics learning skills, namely front roll, back roll and squat jump skills. Class X Science 1 student at SMA Negeri 4 Cimahi.
