Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya belajar membaca dan menulis permulaan di usia sekolah dasar, sebab akibat rendahnya minat membaca dan menulis, kemudian pemilihan metode pembelajaran yang tepat dalam memengaruhi kemampuan membaca dan menulis. Tujuannya adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengaruh membaca dan menulis permulaan siswa dengan menggunakan metode SAS. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Desain penelitiannya yaitu Quasi Experimental Nonequivalent Control Group Design, objek penelitian ini dilakukan kepada siswa di kelas eksperimen yang berjumlah 32 dan kelas kontrol berjumlah 32 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu tes, observasi, dan wawancara. Tes dilakukan dalam dua tahap yaitu pre-test sebelum diberi perlakuan dan post-test setelah diberi perlakuan. Hasil n-gain kelas eksperimen pada pembelajaran membaca permulaan menggunakan metode SAS adalah 0.5, sedangkan n-gain kelas kontrol adalah 0.48. Kemudian hasil n-gain pada pembelajaran menulis menggunakan metode SAS adalah 0.7, sedangkan n-gain kelas kontrol adalah 0.6. Nilai tersebut tidak terdapat hasil yang signifikan pada perbedaan pengaruh metode SAS dalam pembelajaran membaca dan menulis permulaan. Setelah melalui kegiatan dari tahap struktural, tahap analitik, dan tahap sintetik. This research is motivated by the importance of learning to read and write at the beginning of elementary school, the causes and effects of low interest in reading and writing, then choosing the right learning method to influence reading and writing skills. The aim is to find out how students' beginning reading and writing are affected by using the SAS method. This research method uses a quantitative approach. The research design is Quasi Experimental Nonequivalent Control Group Design, the object of this research is carried out to students in the experimental class totaling 32 and the control class totaling 32 students. The instruments used are tests, observations and interviews. The test was carried out in two stages, namely pre-test before being given treatment and post-test after being given treatment. The n-gain result for the experimental class in beginning reading learning using the SAS method was 0.5, while the n-gain for the control class was 0.48. Then the n-gain result in learning to write using the SAS method was 0.7, while the n-gain for the control class was 0.6. There are no significant results in this value regarding the differences in the influence of the SAS method in learning to read and write initially. After going through activities from the structural stage, analytical stage and synthetic stage.
