Abstract

This thesis has the title "Use of Vlog Learning Media in Social Studies Learning (Descriptive Study in Class VIII 2 SMPN 3 Bandung)". This research was motivated by a lack of understanding and learning activities of students in social studies learning which was caused by a decrease in students learning motivation in class VIII 2 SMPN 3 Bandung. The use of vlog media is one solution to the obstacles felt by teachers in social studies learning. Based on these problems, the researcher then developed them into several questions such as: (1) reasons for choosing vlog media (2) implementation of the use of vlog media in social studies learning, (3) results from using vlog media including advantages, disadvantages, obstacles and solutions. So the aim of this research is to describe in depth the use of vlog media in social studies learning in class VIII 2 SMPN 3 Bandung. This research was conducted using a qualitative approach with qualitative descriptive methods. Data and information collection techniques are carried out through observation, interviews and documentation. The research results show that learning using vlog media increases students' learning activities with the help of question and answer discussion activities. The implementation of using vlogs in social studies learning begins with creating lesson plans, designing vlogs, showing vlogs in learning, and reflecting on learning. Based on the results of research findings and discussions, it shows that students more easily understand learning material using vlog media which is demonstrated through discussion activities during learning with positive responses from teachers and students. The results of using vlog media also show advantages, disadvantages, obstacles and solutions that can be applied.
