Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh sejumlah mahasiswa yang memiliki latar belakang keterampilan musik yang berbeda pada saat memasuki perkuliahan semester pertama dan mengontrak mata kuliah “Piano Dasar”. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh keterampilan aural dan sight-reading terhadap permainan piano empat tangan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian terapan dengan data yang diperoleh bersifat ex-post facto dan menggunakan metode kuantitatif. Pada tahap ini dilakukan analisis data mahasiswa yang telah mengontrak mata kuliah Piano Dasar dari Program Studi Pendidikan Seni Musik Tahun Ajaran 2022 yang sebanyak 38 mahasiswa yang pernah menerapkan piano empat tangan. Instrumen penilaian yang digunakan menggunakan skor 0-100, tetapi indikator yang digunakan mengadaptasi dari standar The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM). Buku yang digunakan dalam proses penerapan merupakan buku dari karya Antoni Diabelli Op. 149 yang berisi karya piano duet atau piano empat tangan, namun tidak semua karya dalam buku itu dimainkan, hanya menggunakan bagian satu sampai lima. Data yang diperoleh dari hasil penilaian diolah menggunakan deskriptif kuantitatif, menghitung nilai rata-rata dan korelasi, dengan kemampuan piano empat tangan (performance) sebagai variable bebas serta kemampuan aural dan sight-reading sebagai variabel terikat. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa secara umum dapat memainkan karya dengan tepat. Kemudian korelasi antara kemampuan aural dan sight-reading dengan kemampuan bermain piano empat tangan positif atau sangat kuat karena mendekati angka satu. Kata Kunci: Keterampilan Aural, Keterampilan Sight-reading, Keterampilan Piano empat tangan This research was motivated by a number of students who had different backgrounds in music skills when they entered the first semester of lectures and contracted for the "Basic Piano" course. This study aims to determine the effect of aural and sight-reading skills on four-handed piano playing. This research is applied research with the data obtained ex-post facto and uses quantitative methods. At this stage an analysis of data was carried out on students who had contracted the Basic Piano course from the Music Arts Education Study Program Batch 2022 which 38 students who had used the four-handed piano were taken. The assessment instrument used uses the UPI standard, but the indicators used adapt the standards of The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM). The book used in the implementation process is a book by Antoni Diabelli Op. 149 contain pieces for piano duets or four-handed piano, but not all of the pieces in the book are played, only using parts one through five. Data obtained from the assessment results were processed using quantitative descriptive, calculating average values and correlations, with four-handed piano ability (performance) as the independent variable and aural and sight-reading abilities as the dependent variable. The results show that students can generally play the piece correctly. Then the correlation between aural and sight-reading abilities and the ability to play the piano with four hands is positive or very strong because it is close to number one.
