Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh permalasahan yang dialami oleh peserta didik dalam pembelajaran menulis, khususnya menulis teks esai. Permasalahan ketika peserta didik mulai menulis, yaitu mereka kesulitan dalam mengembangkan dan menyusun ide-idenya. Akibatnya, peserta didik tidak dapat menulis dengan baik karena merasa kesulitan untuk menuangkan gagasannya. Permasalahan tersebut juga disebabkan oleh kurangnya penggunaan perangkat pembelajaran yang menunjang keberhasilan dalam proses pembelajaran dan rendahnya motivasi peserta didik dalam menulis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengujicobakan teknik Clustering berbantuan aplikasi Google Jamboard sebagai alternatif penyelesaian permasalahan dalam menulis teks esai. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen kuasi dengan desain penelitian nonequivalent control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas XI SMA Negeri 15 Bandung. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitan ini adalah kelas XI MIPA 2 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas XI MIPA 4 sebagai kelas kontrol yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini antara lain tes (pretes dan postes), serta angket. Hasil dari uji hipotesis penelitian ini menunjukkan nilai signifikan 0,001. Mengacu pada kriteria Sig. (2-tailed) < 0,05 maka Ha diterima dan Ho ditolak. Dari kriteria tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kemampuan peserta didik dalam menulis teks esai di kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan teknik Clustering berbantuan aplikasi Google Jamboard dengan peserta didik di kelas kontrol yang tidak menggunakan teknik Clustering berbantuan aplikasi Google Jamboard. This research is motivated by the problems experienced by students in learning to write, especially writing essay texts. The problem when students start writing is that they have difficulty developing and compiling their ideas. As a result, students cannot write well because they find it difficult to express their ideas. These problems are also caused by the lack of use of learning tools that support success in the learning process and the low motivation of students in writing. This study aims to test the clustering technique assisted by the Google Jamboard application as an alternative to solving problems in writing essay texts. This study used a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group research design. The population in this study were students of class XI SMA Negeri 15 Bandung. The samples used in this research were class XI MIPA 2 as the experimental class and class XI MIPA 4 as the control class which were selected using a purposive sampling technique. Instruments used in this study include tests (pretest and posttest), and questionnaires. The results of the research hypothesis test showed a significant value of 0.001. Referring to the criteria of Sig. (2-tailed) < 0.05 then Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. From these criteria, it can be concluded that there is a significant difference between the ability of students to write essay texts in the experimental class using the Google Jamboard application-assisted clustering technique and students in the control class who do not use the Google Jamboard application-assisted clustering technique.
