Abstract
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk: (1) mendiskripsikan gambaran tetang penerapan metode pembelajaran menulis bahasa Inggris yang selama ini dilaksanakan di SMA Negeri 1 Kampar, (2) hasil belajar menulis eksposisi siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Kampar dengan menggunakan metode field trip, (3) hasil belajar menulis eksposisi siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Kampar dengan menggunakan metode konvensional, (4) perbedaan hasil belajar menulis eksposisi siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Kampar yang menggunakan metode field trip dengan metode yang selama ini digunakan oleh guru (konvensional). Dalam penelitian ini penulis beranggapan adalah, (1) pengalaman merupakan sumber atau bahan tulisan siswa dalam pembelajaran menulis pada mata pelajaran bahasa Inggris, (2) metode field trip adalah Pendekatan berbasis pengalaman merupakan metode pendekatan yang menjadikan pengaman siswa sebagai landasan untuk menulis, (3) setiap siswa memiliki kemampuan menulis dan kemampuan kreatif yang berbeda-beda dan kemampuan ini dapat dilatih, (4) Hipotesis penelitian metode field trip efektif untuk meningkat kemampuan menulis dan terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara metode field trip dengan metode yang diajarkan oleh guru (konvensional). Penelitian mengambil lokasi di SMA Negeri 1 Kampar kabupaten Kampar. Bentuk penelitiaan ini adalah Penelitian eksprimen kuasi yang dilakukan dengan tujuan memperbaiki mutu praktik pembelajaran di kelas. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa dan dan guru bahasa Inggris kelas X1 SMA Negeri 1 Kampar dan objeknya adalah proses belajar mengajar, khususnya pembelajaran menulis eksposisi yang terjadi di kelas X1. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan menggunakan observasi. Data yang terkumpul dianalisa secara kritis dengan membandingkan hasil kelompok kontrol dan kelompok eksprimen. Hasil analisis (1) penerapan metode field trip dapat meningkatkan motivasi dan minat pembelajaran menulis. (2) penerapan metode field trip dapat meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam menulis eksposisi. Hal ini ditandai dengan nilai karangan yang mengalami peningkatan dari 59 tes awal menjadi 71 tes akhir. (3) ketuntasan hasil belajar siswa meningkat dari 18 % pada pretes meningkat menjadi 82% atau 32 siswa, ini berarti ada peningkatan yang signifikan dari kriteria cukup menjadi kriteria baik. Sementara kelompok kontrol yang menggunakan metode konvensional mengalami sedikit peningkatan bila dibandingkan dengan hasil pretes yaitu meningkat 4 poin. Melihat gain/peningkatan hasil belajar siswa dapat dikatakan bahwa metode field trip efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis khususnya menulis eksposisi. Oleh karena itu, metode field trip disarankan untuk dipergunakan disekolah sebagai alternatif pilihan metode yang telah ada. In this study the authors consider are, (1) experience is a source of material or the students in learning to write on subjects of English, (2) methods of field trips is an experience-based approach is a method of approach that makes the safety of students as a basis for writing, (3 ) every student has the writing skills and creative abilities are different and this ability can be trained, (4) Hypothesis research field trips effective method for increasing the ability to write and there are significant differences between the methods of field trips with the method taught by the teacher (conventional) . The study took place in SMA Negeri 1 Kampar Kampar district. Research form a quasi experimental study was conducted with the aim of improving the quality of instructional practices in the classroom. The subject of this study were students and English teachers and classes X1 SMA Negeri 1 Kampar and its object is the process of teaching and learning, especially learning to write exposition that occurs in class X1. Technique data collection by using observation. The data collected was analyzed critically by comparing the results of the control group and experimental groups. Analysis results (1) the application of the method field trips can enhance the motivation and interest in learning to write. (2) The application of methods of field trips can enhance students' ability in written exposition. It is characterized by the value of essay tests increased from 59 to 71 beginning the final test. (3) Learning exhaustiveness outcomes of students increased from 18% on the pretest increased to 82% or 32 students, this means there is a significant increase of the criterion is quite a good criterion. While the control group using conventional methods experienced a slight improvement when compared with the results of the pretest is an increase of 4 points. Looking at the gain/increase student learning outcomes can be said that an effective method of field trips to improve writing skills, especially writing exposition. Therefore, field trip methods recommended for use in schools as an alternative method that has been there.
