Abstract

Permasalahan yang terjadi dalam penelitian ini adalah masih masih rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan mind map sebagai media pembelajaran terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik dalam mata pelajaran geografi. Metode yang digunakan yaitu quasi eksperimen. Variabel penelitian ini adalah penerapan mind map sebagai variabel bebas dan kemampuan berpikir kritis sebagai variabel terikat. Subjek penelitian ini yaitu kelas XI IPS 1 dan kelas XI IPS 3. Data analisis dengan hasil hitungan persentase, uji normalitas, uji homogenitas dan uji hipotesis. Hasil penelitian ini yaitu menunjukan kecenderungan bahwa : (1) Terdapat perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik sebelum dan sesudah dilakukan penerapan media mind map pada mata pelajaran geografi di kelas eksperimen di SMA Pasundan 7 Bandung, (2) Terdapat perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik sebelum dan sesudah dilakukan pembelajaran konvensional pada mata pelajaran geografi di kelas kontrol di SMA Pasundan 7 Bandung, (3) Terdapat perbedaan rata-rata yang signifikan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik pada kelas eksperimen dengan penerapan mind map dan kelas kontrol dengan pembelajaran konvensional dalam pembelajaran geografi. The problem that occurs in this research is that students' critical thinking skills are still low. This research aims to determine the effect of applying mind maps as a learning medium on students' critical thinking abilities in geography subjects. The method used is quasi-experimental. The variables of this research are the application of mind maps as the independent variable and critical thinking skills as the dependent variable. The subjects of this research are class XI IPS 1 and class XI IPS 3. Data analysis using percentage calculation results, normality test, homogeneity test and hypothesis test. The results of this research show a tendency that: (1) There is a difference in students' critical thinking abilities before and after the application of mind map media in geography subjects in the experimental class at SMA Pasundan 7 Bandung, (2) There is a difference in students' critical thinking abilities before and after conventional learning in geography subjects in the control class at SMA Pasundan 7 Bandung, (3) There was a significant average difference in the critical thinking abilities of students in the experimental class with the application of mind maps and the control class with conventional learning in geography learning.
