Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh permasalahan dalam menulis cerita fantasi, yaitu ditemukan hanya 31,25% siswa yang mendapatkan nilai di atas KKM, siswa kesulitan menentukan tema cerita, menuangkan imajinasi dalam bentuk tulisan, mengembangkan imajinasi tulisan, dan kurangnya minat siswa dalam menulis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas penerapan metode chain writing berbantuan video animasi dalam pembelajaran menulis cerita fantasi di SMP. Penelitian ini Menggunakan metode penelitian eksperimen kuasi dengan desain nonequivalent control gruop design. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII-B dan VII-C SMP Kartika XIX-2 Bandung. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, ditemukan: 1) hasil pretest kemampuan menulis di kedua kelas berkategori “Baik” dan “Cukup” dengan rata-rata hasil pretest kelas eksperimen 78 dan kelas kontrol 65; 2) setelah perlakuan penerapan metode chain writing berbantuan video animasi di kelas eksperimen nilai rata-rata yang diperoleh sebesar 86 dengan kategori “Sangat Baik” dan nilai rata-rata kelas kontrol setelah perlakuan metode terlangsung sebesar 67 dengan kategori “Cukup”. Kemampuan menulis siswa di kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol meningkat, 3) penerapan metode chain writing berbantuan video animasi membuat siswa jadi lebih termotivasi untuk menulis, memudahkan siswa mendapatkan ide tulisan, dan membuat siswa percaya diri untuk berbagi ide tulisan, dan 4) berdasarkan hasil uji hipotesis dengan uji independent sample t-test menunjukkan bahwa nilai signifikansi sig. <0,001< 0,005. Nilai signifikansi menunjukkan bahwa Ha diterima dan Ho ditolak, sehingga terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil menulis cerita fantasi siswa kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Penerapan metode chain writing berbantuan video animasi efektif digunakan dalam pembelajaran menulis cerita fantasi. Kata Kunci: Menulis Cerita Fantasi, Metode Chain Writing, Video Animasi This research was motivated by several problems felt by students in writing fantasy stories, namely students having difficulty determining the core or theme of the story, pouring imagination into words into writing, developing writing imagination, and lack of student interest in writing. This study aims to test the application of chain writing method assisted by animation videos in learning to write fantasy stories in junior high school. Using quasi-nonequivalent control gruop design experimental research methods. The sample in this study was students of grade VII-B and VII-C SMP Kartika XIX-2 Bandung. Data were obtained from interviews, fantasy story writing tests, and questionnaires. Based on the results of the study, it was found: 1) from the results of the pretest writing ability in both classes categorized "Good" and "Sufficient" with an average pretest result of experimental class 78 and control class 65; 2) After being treated with the application of the chain writing method assisted by animation videos in the experimental class, the average score obtained was 86 with the category "Very Good" and the average grade of the class. The writing ability of students in the experimental class and control class increased, and 3) based on the results of the hypothesis test with the independent sample t-test showed that the significance value of sig. <0.001 means <0.001< 0.005. The significance value indicates that Ha was accepted and Ho was rejected, so there is a significant difference between the results of writing fantasy stories for experimental and control class students. The application of the chain writing method assisted by animated videos has a positive effect on students in learning to write fantasy stories.
