Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi pentingnya mengungkap legenda “Kapal Bosok” dari perspektif sastra lisan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan upaya revitalisasi untuk mencegah punahnya legenda “Kapal Bosok” karena belum adanya dokumentasi secara tertulis mengenai legenda tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode dekskriptif kualitatif, pengumpulan data yang dilakukan, yaitu (1) melakukan perekaman legenda “Kapal Bosok”; (2) wawancara dan observasi; (3) transkripsi hasil perekaman dan menerjemahkannya dari bahasa Jawa Serang ke bahasa Indonesia; (4) melakukan analisis data terkait hasil transkripsi; dan (5) membuat rancangan bahan ajar sebagai pemanfaatan hasil analisis. Analisis data hasil transkripsi ini meliputi struktur, konteks, fungsi, dan makna yang terkandung dalam legenda “Kapal Bosok”. Berdasarkan analisis tersebut diperoleh temuan sebagai berikut: (1) struktur teks dari segi alur menunjukkan adanya kesalahpahaman terhadap perintah Sultan yang menjadi asal mula terbentuknya “Kapal Bosok”. Dari segi tokoh, tokoh-tokoh dikonstruksi merepresentasikan identitas masyarakat Curug, Serang. Dari segi latar, latar kampung Drangong, Curug, Serang, menjadi pusat pengisahan cerita; (2) terdapat konteks situasi, budaya, ideologi dan sosial dalam masyarakat yang berperan penting dalam mempengaruhi cara cerita ini diwariskan dan dipahami oleh masyarakat setempat; (3) terdapat empat fungsi yang terkandung dalam legenda “Kapal Bosok”, yaitu (a) sebagai sistem proyeksi; (b) sebagai alat pengesahan pranata-pranata dan lembaga-lembaga kebudayaan; (c) sebagai alat pendidikan anak; (d) sebagai alat pemaksa dan pengawas agar norma-norma masyarakat dipatuhi anggota kolektifnya; (4) legenda “Kapal Bosok” memiliki makna denotasi dan konotasi yang berkaitan dengan penamaan “Kapal Bosok”. Hasil analisis tersebut dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai rancangan bahan ajar apresiasi sastra di jenjang SMP sebagai bentuk revitalisasi. This research is motivated by the importance of uncovering the legend of "Kapal Bosok" from the perspective of oral literature. The purpose of this study is to describe revitalization efforts to prevent the extinction of the legend of "Kapal Bosok" because there is no written documentation regarding this legend. This study used a qualitative descriptive method, data collection was carried out, namely (1) recording the legend of "Kapal Bosok"; (2) interviews and observations; (3) transcription of the results of the recording and translating it from Javanese Serang into Indonesian; (4) perform data analysis related to transcription results; and (5) designing teaching materials as the utilization of the results of the analysis. The analysis of the data resulting from this transcription includes the structure, context, function, and meaning contained in the legend of "Kapal Bosok". Based on the analysis, the following findings are obtained: (1) the structure of the text in terms of plot indicates a misunderstanding of the Sultan's order which became the origin of the formation of "Kapal Bosok". In terms of characters, the figures are constructed to represent the identity of the people of Serang. In terms of setting, Serang's setting is the center of storytelling; (2) there is a situational, cultural, ideological and social context in the community which plays an important role in influencing the way this story is inherited and understood by the local community; (3) there are four functions contained in the legend of "Kapal Bosok", namely (a) as a projection system; (b) as a means of validating cultural institutions and institutions; (c) as a tool for children's education; (d) as a means of coercion and control so that the community's norms are obeyed by its collective members; (4) the legend "Kapal Bosok" has a denotative and connotative meaning related to the name "Kapal Bosok". The results of this analysis can be used as a design material for appreciation of literature at the junior high school level as a form of revitalization.
