Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kurangnya keterampilan siswa sekolah dasar dalam keterampilan berhitung pecahan yang disebabkan oleh proses pembelajaran yang kurang menarik. Berdasarkan hasil pengamatan di kelas, masih terdapat siswa yang menganggap bahwa matematika sulit, dan pembelajaran yang membosankan, sehingga siswa sangat rendah menyukai pembelajaran matematika. Hal ini disebabkan oleh kurangnya variasi pembelajaran. Dengan demikian, perlu adanya perbaikan dalam pembelajaran mengenai pecahan. Upaya yang dapat dilakukan yakni dengan menambah variasi belajar, salah satunya dengan menerapkan metode permainan ular tangga. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu mengetahui pengaruh penerapan metode permainan ular tangga terhadap keterampilan berhitung pecahan di kelas V SD dan untuk mengukur perbedaan keterampilan berhitung pecahan siswa kelas V SD dalam pembelajaran bilangan pecahan menggunakan metode permainan ular tangga dengan metode konvensional. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian menggunakan Nonequivalent control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini yakni seluruh siswa kelas V SD yang berada di satu gugus wilayah kecamatan Leuwimunding dengan sampel salah satu kelas V di SDN Parungjaya I dan SDN Parungjaya II. Hasil Analisis data pretest dan posttest kelas eksperimen menunjukan adanya pengaruh penerapan metode permainan ular tangga terhadap keterampilan berhitung pecahan siswa kelas V SD. Nilai rata-rata pretest eksperimen yakni 59,71 dan nilai rata-rata posttest kelas eksperimen yakni 82,13 Sehingga rata-rata nilai siswa di kelas eksperimen mengalami peningkatan sebesar 22,47. Hasil analisis dari kedua kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol menunjukan terdapat perbedaan perbedaan antara metode permainan dengan metode konvensional dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berhitung pecahan siswa kelas V sekolah dasar. ----------- This research is motivated by the lack of elementary school students' skills in fraction calculations due to an unengaging learning process. Based on classroom observations, there are still students who find mathematics difficult and the teaching methods boring, resulting in a very low interest in learning mathematics. This is caused by a lack of teaching variety. Therefore, there is a need for improvement in fraction learning. One of the efforts that can be made is by introducing more learning variations, such as implementing the snake and ladder game method. The objective of this study is to determine the influence of applying the snake and ladder game method on fraction calculation skills in 5th-grade elementary school (SD) students and to measure the differences in fraction calculation skills between 5thgrade students using the snake and ladder game method and the conventional method. This research utilized a quasi-experimental research method with a design involving a Non-equivalent control group design. The population for this study consisted of all 5th-grade students in the Leuwimunding sub-district region, with a sample taken from one of the 5th-grade classes at SDN Parungjaya I and SDN Parungjaya II. The results of the pretest and posttest data analysis for the experimental class show the influence of applying the snake and ladder game method on fraction calculation skills for 5th-grade students. The average pretest score for the experimental group was 59,71. while the average posttest score was 82,13. This indicates an improvement of 22,47 in the average student scores in the experimental class. The analysis of both the experimental and control classes reveals differences between the game method and the conventional method in enhancing fraction calculation skills for 5th-grade elementary school students.
