Abstract

Penelitian ini di latar belakangi atas keresahan kondisi pembelajaran yang berubah secara mendadak dan menimbulkan berbagai kendala sebagai dampak pemberlakuan pembatasan sosial akibat covid-19 di Indonesia. Melalui metode penelitian naturalistik-inquiry, peneliti mengkaji: 1) alasan penggunaan video pembelajaran pada pembelajaran sejarah secara daring, 2) dukungan guru terhadap penggunaan konsep berpikir historis dalam pembelajaran, 3) pemahaman berpikir historis siswa pada pembelajaran sejarah yang dilakukan secara daring dari rumah melalui media video pembelajaran, 4) kelebihan dan kekurangan media video pembelajaran bagi siswa. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMA Assalaam Bandung yang berdasarkan analisis kebutuhan siswa, sekolah menerapkan inovasi pembelajaran melalui video pembelajaran yang dibagikan melalui Youtube sebagai media pembelajaran. Sebanyak 14 siswa berpartisipasi sebagai narasumber penelitian ini. Melalui analisis berdasarkan konsep The Big Six, hasil penelitian ini menunjukan variasi dalam kemampuan berpikir historis siswa, dengan temuan hampir seluruh siswa memahami unsur dimensi etis. Sebagian besar siswa juga ditemukan memahami unsur sebab akibat dalam berpikir historis. Hampir setengah jumlah siswa juga memahami unsur perspektif sejarah. Relatif tidak jauh berbeda dengan perspektif sejarah, pada unsur kontinuitas dan perubahan juga dipahami oleh siswa. Pemahaman siswa terhadap dua unsur lainnya yakni signifikansi dan bukti sejarah ditemukan nampak berimbang dan relatif sedikit dikuasai oleh siswa. Kelebihan video sebagai pendukung pembelajaran peserta didik yakni adaptif, jelas, fleksibel, dan menarik dapat memudahkan siswa belajar sedangkan kekurangannya adalah kuota internet yang besar dan sinyal yang tidak stabil menyebabkan siswa kesulitan dalam belajar, kesulitan memahami informasi pembelajaran disebabkan subtitle kecil, kesalahan teknis dam audio-visual, dan tidak terbiasa belajar mandiri. This research is motivated by the anxiety of learning conditions that change suddenly and cause various obstacles as a result of the implementation of social restrictions due to COVID-19 in Indonesia. Through the naturalistic-inquiry research method, researchers examine: 1) the reasons for using learning videos in online history learning, 2) teacher support for the use of historical thinking concepts in learning, 3) understanding students' historical thinking in history learning conducted online from home through learning video media, 4) advantages and disadvantages of learning video media for students. This research was conducted at SMA Assalaam Bandung which based on the analysis of student needs, the school implemented learning innovations through learning videos shared via Youtube as a learning medium. A total of 14 students participated as resource persons for this study. Through analysis based on the concept of The Big Six, the results of this study show variations in students' historical thinking skills, with the findings that almost all students understand elements of ethical dimensions. Most students are also found to understand the element of causation in historical thinking. Almost half the students also understand elements of historical perspective. Relatively not much different from the historical perspective, the elements of continuity and change are also understood by students. Students' understanding of the other two elements, namely significance and historical evidence, was found to appear balanced and relatively little mastered by students. The advantages of video as a support for student learning are adaptive, clear, flexible, and interesting can make it easier for students to study from home while the disadvantages are large internet quotas and unstable signals causing students difficulty in learning, difficulty understanding learning information due to small subtitles, technical and audio-visual errors, and not used to independent learning.
