Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh upaya pembentukan jati diri anak dalam berinteraksi agar sesuai dengan nilai-nilai budaya, adat istiadat setempat dan mampu mengimbangi perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan, teknologi dan komunikasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji lebih dalam mengenai nilai-nilai karakter yang terkandung dalam penerapan kato nan ampek pada anak usia dini di Kenagarian Lagan Hilir Punggasan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi kasus dengan menggunakan penelitian kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis tematik. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa penerapan kato nan ampek di kenagarian Lagan Hilir Punggasan masih berjalan dengan baik sesuai dengan ketentuan adat yang berlaku di daerah setempat namun telah berkurang tidak sekental zaman dulu yang sangat memperhatikan kato nan ampek. Adapun nilai-nilai karakter dalam penerapan kato nan ampek yaitu nilai sopan, nilai religious, nilai toleransi, nilai adaptasi, nilai raso, nilai bersahabat, nilai estetika, nilai budaya dan nilai tenggang rasa. Penerapan kato nan ampek di Kenagarian Lagan Hilir Punggasan memiliki dua hambatan. Adapun hambatannya yaitu teknologi dan lingkungan. Pengaruh dari teknologi yang semakin berkembang membuat anak mulai mencontoh apa yang dilihatnya dari media massa sehingga mulai dilupakannya nilai-nilai budaya yang sudah diterapkan di rumah. Hambatan dari lingkungan yang kurang mendukung dalam penerapan kato nan ampek menjadi tantangan bagi orangtua untuk lebih bisa menyaring hal-hal negatif yang di dapat anak dari lingkungan sekitarnya. Diharapkan melalui penelitian bisa di jadikan bahan pedoman dalam membuat kebijakan baru dalam melestarikan budaya-budaya local, Orang tua bisa mengaplikasi kan nilai-nilai karakter kepada anak dan memberikan pengawasan terhadap media digital yang digunakan anak, kepada lembaga masyarakat untuk membentuk karakter generasi muda bisa di dapat dari lingkungannya, dan bagi peneliti selanjutnya bisa melibatkan ahli budaya sehingga lebih mempertajam hasil penelitian. This research is motivated by efforts to form children's identity in interacting so that they are in accordance with cultural values, local customs and are able to keep pace with developments in science, technology and communication. This study aims to examine more deeply the character values contained in the application of kato nan ampek to early childhood in Kenagarian Lagan Hilir Punggasan. The research method used is a case study using qualitative research. Data collection techniques using observation techniques, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques using thematic analysis techniques. The results of the study revealed that the implementation of kato nan ampek in the Lagan Hilir Punggasan district is still going well in accordance with the customary provisions in force in the local area but has been reduced not as thick as in the past which paid great attention to kato nan ampek. The character values in the application of kato nan ampek are polite values, religious values, tolerance values, adaptation values, racial values, friendly values, aesthetic values, cultural values and tolerance values. The application of kato nan ampek in Kenagarian Lagan Hilir Punggasan has two obstacles. The obstacles are technology and environment. The growing influence of technology makes children begin to imitate what they see from the mass media so that they begin to forget the cultural values that have been implemented at home. Obstacles from an environment that is less supportive in implementing kato nan ampek are a challenge for parents to be better able to filter out the negative things that children can do from the surrounding environment. It is hoped that through research it can become a guideline in making new policies in preserving local cultures, parents can apply character values to children and provide supervision of digital media used by children, community institutions to shape the character of the younger generation can be obtained from the environment, and for further researchers to involve cultural experts so as to sharpen research results.
