Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh dan perbandingan penggunaan video animasi Riri dan buku cerita bergambar terhadap pemahaman dongeng siswa kelas III SD. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian quasi eksperimen. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 15 siswa kelas III SD pada setiap kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol, yang dipilih berdasarkan kemampuan membaca dan menulis. Pada kelompok eksperimen, pembelajaran pemahaman dongeng diberikan melalui pemanfaatan video animasi Riri, sementara kelompok kontrol menggunakan buku cerita bergambar. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa baik video animasi Riri maupun buku cerita bergambar memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap pemahaman dongeng siswa kelas III SD. Meskipun demikian, uji independent sample t-test tidak mengindikasikan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara penggunaan kedua media tersebut terhadap pemahaman dongeng siswa. Dengan demikian, penggunaan video animasi Riri dan buku cerita bergambar dapat berperan sebagai media yang memberikan pengaruh positif terhadap pemahaman dongeng siswa kelas III SD. ----------- This study aims to examine the effect and comparison of the use of Riri's animated videos and picture story books on the understanding of fairy tales for third-grade elementary school students. The method used in this research is a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental research type. The research sample consisted of 15 third-grade elementary school students in each experimental group and control group, who were selected based on their reading and writing abilities. In the experimental group, learning to understand fairy tales was provided through the use of Riri's animated video, while the control group used picture story books. The results of the data analysis showed that both Riri's animated video and picture story books had a significant influence on the understanding of fairy tales for third-grade elementary school students. Nevertheless, the independent sample t-test did not indicate that there was a significant difference between the use of the two media on students' understanding of fairy tales. Thus, the use of Riri's animated videos and picture story books can act as media that have a positive influence on the understanding of fairy tales for third grade students in elementary school.
