Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kurangnya pemahaman peserta didik terkait konsep pengukuran satuan panjang di kelas III Fase B sekolah dasar. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara dan observasi, hal ini disebabkan modul ajar yang digunakan belum mendukung peserta didik untuk menemukan konsep sendiri sehingga peserta didik cenderung menghapal konsep. Materi yang digunakan dalam modul ajar saat ini juga cenderung tersusun dari konsep yang abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelesaikan masalah tersebut dengan mengembangkan sebuah modul ajar beroerientasi model discovery learning untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep matematis di sekolah dasar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian Design & Development (DND) dengan model PPE (Planning, Production and Evaluation) yang dikembangkan oleh Richey dan Klein. Temuan pada penelitian ini adalah : 1) Desain awal pengembangan modul ajar menghasilkan ATP, Sintaks Pembelajaran dan hasil desain awal. 2) Hasil penilaian validasi para ahli menyatakan modul ajar petualangan sipan mendapatkan persetanse 96% dari penilaian ahli materi sebesar 96%, 85% dari penilaian ahli bahasa dan 83% dari penilaian ahli desain. 3) Hasil pre-test dan post-test menunjukkan peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis pada pengukuran satuan panjang dengan rata-rata pre-test¬ 65.6 dan post-test 91 dengan penilaian sangat baik. 4) Desain akhir modul ajar menjadi produk yang layak digunakan untuk pembelajaran matematika di sekolah dasar. The background of this research is the lack of understanding of students regarding the concept of measuring units of length in class III phase b of elementary schools. Based on the results of interviews and observations, this is because the teaching modul used don’t support students to fint their own concepts so that students tend to memorize concepts. The material used in current teaching modul also tends to be composed of abstract concepts. This study aims to solve this problem by developing a discovery learning model-oriented teaching module to improve understanding mathematical concepts in elementary schools. The research method used is the Design and Development (D&D) research method with the PPE (Planning, Production and Evaluation) model developed by Richey and Klein. The findings in this study are : 1) The initial design of teaching module development produces ATP, Blue Print and initial design results. 2) The results of the exper validation assessment stated that the petualangan sipan teaching module received a percentage of 96% from material experts, 85% from linguist expert, and 83% from design experts. 3) Based on the results of the pre-test and post-test, it shows an increase in the ability to understand the concepts of on length unit measurements with an average pre-test of 65.6 and a post-test of 91 with a very good rating. 4) The final design of the teaching module is a product that is suitable for teaching mathematics in elementary schools.
