Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kesenjangan antara pembelajaran di perguruan tinggi Indonesia dengan kualitas lulusan yang dibutuhkan di dunia kerja, pembelajaran di perguruan tinggi Indonesia lebih menekankan pada pengembangan hard skills daripada soft skills, sedangkan dunia kerja membutuhkan tenaga kerja yang sudah dibekali hard skills maupun soft skills yang seimbang. Dalam mengatasi permasalahan tersebut, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia memfasilitasi mahasiswanya untuk dapat mengembangkan soft skills terutama keterampilan abad 21 (21st century soft skills) melalui program pembelajaran inovatif yang dilaksanakannya secara khusus, yaitu program pembelajaran Sosial Emosional (PSE) bernama Program mentoring Frosh Project ID yang diselenggarakan oleh PeaceGeneration Indonesia bekerjasama secara resmi dengan Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis persepsi mahasiswa terhadap pelaksanaan pembelajaran sosial emosional pada program mentoring Frosh Project ID 2.0 yang dilihat dari empat komponen inti pembelajaran yaitu tujuan, materi, proses, dan evaluasi pembelajaran sosial emosional. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket/kuesioner dengan metode checklist serta sampel penelitian yang digunakan adalah mahasiswa sebanyak 107 orang. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah statistika deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persepsi mahasiswa terhadap pelaksanaan pembelajaran sosial emosional pada program mentoring Frosh Project ID 2.0 di Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia tergolong positif. Hal tersebut diindikasikan dari interpretasi setiap aspek persepsi yang ditinjau: tujuan pembelajaram, materi pembelajaram, proses pembelajaram, dan evaluasi pembelajaram, seluruhnya berada dalam kategori “positif”. This research was conducted because of the gap between learning in Indonesian college and the quality of graduates needed in the world of work, learning in Indonesian college is more focused on developing hard skills than soft skills, while the industry requires a workforce that is equipped with balanced hard skills and soft skills. In overcoming these problems, the Indonesian University of Education facilitates its students to be able to develop soft skills, especially 21st century soft skills through an innovative learning program that is implemented specifically, namely the Social Emotional learning program (SEL) called the Frosh Project ID mentoring program organized by PeaceGeneration Indonesia in collaboration with official with the Indonesian University of Education. This study aims to describe and analyze student perceptions of the implementation of social-emotional learning in the Frosh Project ID 2.0 mentoring program based on the four core components of learning, namely objectives, materials, processes, and evaluation of social-emotional learning. This study used a descriptive quantitative method with data collection techniques using a questionnaire with a checklist method and the research sample used was 107 students. The data analysis technique used in this research is descriptive statistics. The results showed that students' perceptions of the implementation of emotional social learning in the Frosh Project ID 2.0 mentoring program at the Indonesian University of Education were classified as positive. This is indicated by the interpretation of each aspect of perception reviewed: learning objectives, learning materials, learning processes, and learning evaluations, all of which are in the "positive" category.
