Abstract

Literasi matematis merupakan aspek penting yang mesti diperhatikan dalam pembelajaran matematika. Namun, berdasarkan laporan PISA dan hasil temuan beberapa penelitian yang telah dilakukan ditemukan fakta bahwa kemampuan literasi matematis peserta didik masih rendah, khususnya peserta didik usia 15 tahun yang mayoritas berada pada jenjang SMP. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji secara statistik peningkatan kemampuan literasi matematis peserta didik setelah dilaksanakannya pembelajaran dengan model Problem-Based Learning pada topik statistika (menggunakan data), termasuk menguji secara statistik peningkatan tersebut jika ditinjau berdasarkan kategori KAM peserta didik, serta untuk mengetahui respon peserta didik terhadap implementasi model PBL yang telah dilaksanakan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode kuasi eksperimen dan desain kelompok kontrol non-ekuivalen. Populasi dari penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelompok VII di salah satu SMP Kota Bandung dengan sampel yang terdiri dari dua kelompok, yaitu kelompok eksperimen dengan model PBL dan kelompok kontrol dengan model pembelajaran langsung. Data penelitian ini diperoleh dari pretest-posttest kemampuan literasi matematis, serta angket respon peserta didik dan lembar observasi pelaksanaan pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa (1) secara statistik peningkatan kemampuan literasi matematis peserta didik yang memperoleh pembelajaran model PBL lebih tinggi secara signifikan daripada peserta didik yang memperoleh model pembelajaran langsung; (2) secara statistik terdapat perbedaan secara signifikan peningkatan kemampuan literasi matematis peserta didik yang memperoleh pembelajaran model PBL jika ditinjau dari kategori KAM, yaitu peningkatan kemampuan literasi matematis peserta didik kategori KAM tinggi lebih unggul atau lebih tinggi secara signifikan daripada peserta didik kategori KAM sedang dan rendah; serta; (3) respon peserta didik terhadap implementasi model PBL yang telah dilaksanakan termasuk dalam kategori positif atau menyukai dan merasa cocok dengan pembelajaran matematika dengan menggunakan model PBL dalam meningkatkan kemampuan literasi matematis. : Mathematical literacy is an important aspect that must be considered in learning mathematics. However, based on the PISA report and the findings of several studies that have been conducted, it is found that the mathematical literacy skills of students are still low, especially students aged 15 years who are mostly at the junior high school level. The purpose of this study is to statistically test the improvement of students' mathematical literacy skills after the implementation of learning with the Problem-Based Learning model on the topic of statistics (using data), including statistically testing the improvement when viewed based on the KAM category of students, as well as to determine the students' response to the implementation of the PBL model that has been implemented. This study used a quantitative approach with quasiexperimental method and non-equivalent control group design. The population of this study was group VII students in one of the Bandung City junior high schools with a sample consisting of two groups, namely the experimental group with the PBL model and the control group with the direct learning model. The data of this study were obtained from pretest-posttest of mathematical literacy skills, as well as students' response questionnaire and learning implementation observation sheet. The results of this study showed that (1) statistically the improvement of mathematical literacy skills of students who obtained PBL model learning was significantly higher than students who obtained direct learning model; (2) statistically there was a significant difference in the improvement of mathematical literacy skills of students who obtained PBL model learning when viewed from the KAM category, which is the improvement of mathematical literacy skills of high KAM category students was superior or significantly higher than students in the medium and low KAM categories; and; (3) students' responses to the implementation of the PBL model that has been implemented are included in the positive category or like and feel suitable for learning mathematics using the PBL model in improving mathematical literacy skills.
