Abstract

Keaksaraan awal anak adalah salah satu kemampuan anak yang harus distimulasi pada anak usia dini, hal tersebut dilakukan sebagai upaya pengembangan salah satu aspek perkembangan bahasa anak, selain itu keaksaraan awal anak merupakan langkah pertama bagi anak dalam menguasai kemampuan membaca dan menulis. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh permasalahan yang ditemukan peneliti di lapangan terkait dengan kemampuan keaksaraan awal anak usia 6 tahun dalam mengenal huruf. Anak memiliki kecenderungan belum mengenal simbol-simbol huruf, selain itu kurang dihadirkan kegiatan bermain yang menstimulasi kemampuan anak dalam mengenal simbol-simbol huruf. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui permainan flashcard modifikasi dalam meningkatkan kemampuan keaksaraan awal anak usia dini dan untuk mengetahui hasil kemampuan keaksaraan awal anak setelah diberikan stimulasi melalui permainan flashcard modifikasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian tindakan kelas model Pelton yang dilakukan sebanyak 3 tindakan dengan partisipan sebanyak 12 anak. Hasil penelitian ini menujukan bahwa kemampuan keaksaraan awal anak dapat ditingkatkan melalui permainan flashcard modifikasi, pada tindakan ke-1 diperoleh hasil presentase sebesar 48%, lalu di tindakan ke-2 memperoleh hasil sebesar 67%, dan di tindakan ke-3 memperoleh hasil presentase 91%. Dengan begitu dapat disimpulkan bahwa permainan flashcard modifikasi dapat meningkatkan kemampuan keaksaraan awal anak usia dini. -------- Early childhood literacy is one of the child's abilities that must be stimulated. This is done to develop one aspect of children's language development. Besides that, early childhood literacy is one of the first steps for children in mastering reading and writing skills. This research was motivated by the problems found by researchers in the field related to the early literacy abilities of children aged six years in recognizing letters. Children tend not to acknowledge letter symbols; besides, there are not enough play activities that stimulate children's ability to recognize letter symbols. This study aimed to determine the modified flashcard game to improve early childhood literacy skills and to choose the results of children's early literacy skills after being stimulated through modified flashcard games. This study uses the Pelton model class action research method and carried out as many as three actions with 12 children as participants. The results of this study indicate that children's early literacy skills can be improved through modified flashcard games, where in the 1st action, a percentage of 48% is obtained, then in the 2nd action, the results are 67%. In the 3rd action, the percentage results are obtained. 91%. Thus, it can be concluded that modified flashcard games can improve early childhood literacy skills.
