Abstract

Children with emotional and behavioral disorder generally they aren’t of being able to build a good interpersonal relationships. The low social skills of children with emotional and behavioral disorder can make it difficult for them to can interact effectively with their environment and they’re will choose to take aggressive actions as a form of self-defense. It is an interest for children with emotional and behavioral disorder to get good social skills teaching and training so that their existence can be accepted by their environment which is part of the demands of fulfilling their developmental tasks. In an effort to improve the child's social skills, the researcher uses the priming method to apply ideal characters to the child so they’re will be able to become a better person. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the priming method on improving the social skills of children with emotional and behavioral disorder. The research method used is Single Subject Research (SSR) with an A-B-A design. Data were collected using an observational test on the frequency of children's behavior during learning and the data were analyzed using analysis between conditions and under conditions. After the data was obtained, it was concluded that the priming method was effective in improving the social skills of children with emotional and behavioral disorder at SLB E Bhina Putera. This method is recommended to use by teachers as a learning method that can be used in the classroom because the application is very easy to do. For optimal results, this method should be used for a longer period of time.
