Abstract
Riset ini dilatarbelakangi dengan pandangan bahwa tarian tradisional anak hanya bisa dilakukan oleh kaum wanita saja, sebab mayoritas individu pula juga beranggapan bahwa anak laki-laki tak layak melaksanakan tarian. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui sejauh mana pengenalan gender dalam pembelajaran tari tradisional anak. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan design studi dokumentasi. Sumber data penelitan berupa 7 video, didapat dari 2 video youtube dan 5 video dari responden guru pengajar tari anak. Peneliti melakukan analisis dengan melihat video atau sumber data, lalu data di masukan kedalam tema-tema penelitian diantaranya femininitas, maskulinitas, dan crossgender, yang mana hasil penelitian ini juga dibahas dengan tema besar yaitu konstruksi gender. Dalam hasil penelitian terungkap bahwa kegiatan pembelajaran tari tradisional pada anak kebanyakan mengkelompokan tarian dengan masing-masing gender, dan ternyata pada hasil penelitian ini memberikan kesan condong untuk anak perempuan. Maka hasil temuan sejalan dengan yang disebutkan oleh teori Mulyani. Hanya peneliti juga mendapatkan hasil temuan bahwa ternyata pembelajaran tari tradisional anak juga dapat memberikan tarian yang crossgender. Penulis merekomendasikan perlu adanya penelitian yang lebih lanjut berkaitan dengan konstruksi gender terhadap kegiatan pembelajaran tari anak melalui sudut pandang guru dan orangtua. Kata Kunci : Gender, anak, tari tradisional, kegiatan pembelajaran ABSTRACT ANALYSIS OF TRADITIONAL DANCE LEARNING IN CHILDREN THROUGH GENDER VIEWS (Descriptive qualitative of dance learning from a gender perspective) Anisa Noer Tresnawati 1603454 The background of the research is motivated that children’s traditional dance can only be performed by women, because most people also think boys are not fit to do the dance. The purpose of this study to determine how far of gender recognition in children's traditional dance learning. This study uses qualitative research methods with the design of documentation studies. Research data sources in the form of 7 videos, they are obtained from 2 youtube videos and 5 videos from children dance teaching respondents. Researchers conducted an analysis by looking at videos or data sources, then the data was inputted into research themes including femininity, masculinity, and crossgender, where the results of this study were also discussed with a big theme, namely gender construction. In the results of the study revealed that the traditional dance learning activities in children mostly grouped dances with each gender, and in fact the results of this study gave the impression of leaning for girls. So the finding are in line with those referring to Mulyani's theory. Only the researcher also found that learning traditional dance for children could also provide crossgender dance. Researcher recommends that there is a need for further research related to gender construction of children's dance learning activities through the point of view of teachers and parents.
