Abstract

Buku teks sejarah adalah salah satu bentuk historiografi yang diperuntukan bagi kepentingan pendidikan. Dari sekian banyak tema yang ada di dalam buku teks sejarah jenjang Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA), tema Konfrontasi adalah tema yang perlu diangkat dikarenakan menurut peneliti tema ini menyangkut hubungan antara dua negara serumpun yang bertetangga. Rumusan masalah dari penelitian ini dapat diuraikan sebagai berikut: 1) Mengapa terjadi Konfrontasi?; 2) Bagaimana narasi dari Konfrontasi Indonesia-Malaysia diceritakan dalam buku teks sejarah kedua negara; 3) Mengapa narasi Konfrontasi Indonesia-Malaysia dalam buku teks Sejarah kedua negara lebih menekankan aspek politik dibandingkan aspek-aspek yang lain ?; dan 4) Apa kelebihan dan kekurangan materi Konfrontasi Indonesia-Malaysia dari perspektif buku teks sejarah kedua negara? Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memberikan gambaran yang utuh bagi guru dan terutama bagi siswa mengenai sejarah peristiwa Konfrontasi Indonesia –Malaysia 1963-1966. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode komparatif dan analisis isi (Content Analysis). Hasil dari penelitian ini bahwa Konfrontasi Indonesia- Malaysia 1963-1966 terjadi dikarenakan oleh rasa saling curiga antara Indonesia dan Malaysia. Narasi peristiwa Konfrontasi Indonesia-Malaysia 1963-1966 dalam buku teks Sejarah kedua negara memiliki perspektif dan titik tekan berbeda yang sesuai dengan kepentingan masing-masing melalui sejarah resmi (Official History). Buku teks Indonesia lebih menekankan pada peran orang-orang penting dari pihak Indonesia saja, sedangkan buku teks Malaysia berusaha lebih objektif dengan cara memperkenalkan kedua tokoh baik dari Indonesia maupun Malaysia. Historical textbooks are a form of historiography intended for educational purposes. Of the many themes in the historical textbooks at the High School level, the theme of Confrontation is a theme that needs to be raised because according to researchers this theme concerns the relationship between two neighboring allied countries. The formulation of the problem from this research can be described as follows: 1) Why does Confrontation occurs ?; 2) How the narration of the Indonesia-Malaysia Confrontation is told in the historical textbooks of both countries; 3) Why is the narration of Indonesia-Malaysia Confrontation in the historical textbooks of the two countries more emphasize the political aspect than any other aspects ?; and 4) What are the advantages and disadvantages of the Indonesia-Malaysia Confrontation material from the perspective of the historical books of the two countries? The purpose of this study is to provide a complete picture for teachers and especially for students about the history of the Indonesia-Malaysia Confrontation 1963-1966. The method used in this study is comparative and content analysis. The results of this study show that the Indonesia-Malaysia confrontation 1963-1966 occurred because of mutual suspicion between Indonesia and Malaysia. The narrative of the 1963-1966 Indonesia-Malaysia Confrontation in the historical textbooks of the two countries has different perspectives and pressure points that are in accordance with their respective interests through the official history. Indonesian textbooks emphasize the role of important people from the Indonesian side only, while Malaysian textbooks try to be more objective by introducing both figures from Indonesia and Malaysia.
