Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya pemahaman konsep gaya pada pembelajaran IPA siswa kelas IVB SDN 139 yang berada di Kota Bandung. Hal tersebut disebabkan oleh siswa yang tidak aktif dalam mengikuti pembelajaran dan siswa masih menjadikan guru sebagai sumber belajar. Sehingga peneliti menerapkan pendekatan saintifik dalam pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep gaya pada pembelajaran IPA di Kelas IV SD. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pembelajaran dan peningkatan pemahaman konsep siswa di kelas IV Sekolah Dasar dengan menerapkan pendekatan saintifik. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) dengan menggunakan model yang dikembangkan oleh Kemmis dan Tagart. Tahapan pelaksanaan penelitian meliputi perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi dan refleksi. Penelitian dilaksanakan sebanyak dua siklus dengan partisipan siswa kelas IV SDN 139 yang berada di Kota Bandung. Setelah pelaksanaan siklus diperoleh hasil pemahaman konsep pada pelaksanaan siklus 1 mencapai 77,25% dan berada pada kategori cukup paham, sedangkan pada siklus 2 pemahaman konsep siswa mencapai 90,25% dan berada pada kategori paham hal ini menunjukkan terjadi peningkatan sebesar 13% dari siklus 1 dan siklus 2. Peningkatan pemahaman konsep pada siklus 1 dan siklus 2 tersebut menunjukkan bahwa dengan menerapkan pendekatan saintifik pada pembelajaran dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep gaya pada pembelajaran IPA di Kelas IV Sekolah Dasar. ;---The study was backed by the lack of understanding of the concept learning styles on science students class IVB SDN 139 that are located in the city of Bandung. It is caused students are not active in the following learning and students still make teachers as a learning resource. To resolve this problem researchers apply a scientific approach in study. Research aims to describe the learning and improve understanding the concept of students in class IV elementary school by applying scientific approach. Method of research is using action research (PTK) using the model developed by Kemmis and Tagart. Phase of the research include planning, implementation measures, observation and reflection. The research was carried out by two cycles with participant grade IV SDN 139 that are located in the city of Bandung. After the execution of the cycle results obtained on the implementation of the concept of understanding the first cycle reach 77.25% and be well-informed on the category, while on second cycle understanding the concept of students achieve 90.25% and is versed in this category shows happen an increase of 13% from first cycle and second cycle. Increased understanding of the concept from first cycle and second cycle indicates that by applying the scientific approach to the study improve the understanding of the concept learning styles on the science in class IV elementary school.
