Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya berpikir krologis siswa. Rendahnya berpikir kronologis siswa ditandai dengan kurang nya siswa dalam memahami rentang waktu yang berhubungan dengan tanggal dan waktu. Hal tersebut menyebabkan peneliti merasa perlu untuk memperbaiki kondisi pembelajaran sejarah di kelas tersebut melalui penggunaan media Photo Story untuk menumbuhkan cara berfikir kronologis siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian tindakan kelas model Kemmis & Taggart. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan ialah wawancara, observasi dan studi dokumenter. sementara alat pengumpulan data yang digunakan ialah lembar observasi, catatan lapangan, lembar wawancara dan dokumentasi. Data yang diambil dalam penelitian ini adalah data mengenai pelaksanaan pembelajaran sejarah dengan penggunaan media photostory untuk menumbuhkan kemampuan berfikir kronologis siswa. Indikator-indikator tersebut terdiri dari kemampuan memahami konsep waktu, kemampuan merekontruksi peristiwa sejarah, kemampuan membedakan masa lalu masa kini dan masa datang yang terbagi dalam penilaian individu dan penilaian kelompok. Penelitian ini terdiri dari tiga siklus dan tiga tindakan. Hasil observasi pada setiap siklusnya, mengalami peningkatan dilihat dari siklus pertama hingga siklus ketiga. Berdasarkan pada hasil penelitian yang diperoleh dengan menggunakan media photostory selama tiga siklus dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berfikir kronologis siswa dalam pembelajaran sejarah di kelas XI IIS 2 SMA Negeri 1 Lembang.---- This research was triggered by the low level of the student chronological thinking.The low level of chronological thinking is reflected by less understanding student in understanding time of life on earth that deals with date and time. This is is caused the researcher needs to reparation the teaching history in class through the use of the media a Photo Story to develop the chronological students way of thinking. This study was using action class design research model of Kemmis & Taggart. The technique data collection is used interview, observation and study documentary. While instrument data collection is used sheets of observation, field notes, sheets of interview and documentation. The data were drawn in this research was data on the implementation of the teaching history with the use of media Photo Story to develop the ability of the student chronological thinking. These indicators consisting of the ability to see concept of time, the ability of reconstruct of historical circumstances, the ability to differentiate the past the present and the future of which is divided in the assessment of individual and group assessment. This research is made up of three cycles and three acts. The observations on each cycle can be seen an increase in the first to the third cycle. Based on the results of research that obtained by using media photo story for three cycles can improve the ability of students in chronological thinking of teaching history in the class XI IIS 2 Senior High School 1 Lembang.
