Abstract

pentingnya toleransi dalam pendidikan formal. Maka pemerintah Purwakarta mengeluarkan program Pendidikan Berkarakter yang ditandai dengan Peraturan Bupati Nomor 69 Tahun 2015 sebagai upaya pelembagaan toleransi siswa. Dengan alasan tersebut, penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui implementasi Pendidikan Berkarakter dalam menumbuhkan karakter toleransi antar umat beragama siswa di SMP Negeri 1 Purwakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan metode studi kasus. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Temuan penelitian ini yaitu (1) implementasi pendidikan berkarakter diawali dengan perencanaan yang meliputi: pengkajian visi misi sekolah; penentuan program yang dilaksanakan; dan penentuan komponen penunjang program. Selanjutnya diimplementasikan dalam tiga basis yaitu: Pembelajaran di kelas/kurikuler; ekstrakurikuler dan pembiasaan di kelas maupun di luar kelas. Adapun implementasi pada tahap evaluasi dilaksanakan dengan dua tipe yaitu on going evaluation dan ex-post evaluation. (2) Urgensi implementasi pendidikan berkarakter meliputi empat poin berikut, yaitu: sarana penanaman toleransi sebagai solusi dari isu perpecahan, upaya pendidikan multikultural, implementasi visi misi PKn dalam pembangunan moral, dan penyeimbangan berbagai komponen moral siswa. (3) peran SMP Negeri 1 Purwakarta yaitu sebagai: (a) pelaksana setiap teknis program; (b) penyedia sarana prasarana untuk menunjang setiap program (c) mengupayakan terciptanya lingkungan pendidikan yang bebas dalam beribadah; (d) pihak yang mengupayakan terbangunnya toleransi dalam keseharian siswa; dan (e) sebagai tempat untuk melatih karakter siswa guna meningkatkan kualitas mutu lulusan. -----Purwakarta is one of regencies in West Java which realizes about significant of tolerance formal education. So, Government of Purwakarta issued a program of character education which signed by Regent Regulation Number 69 Year 2015 as an effort of institutionalization student tolerance. By the reason, this research carried out to know about implementation of character education in growing character of tolerance among religious people for students in Junior High School 1 of Purwakarta. This research used qualitative approach and case study method. Aggregation of data implemented by interview, observation, and documentation study, The findings of this study (1) Implementation character education started by a plan which covers: assessment of vision and mission of school: determination program which implemented: and program of determination supporting component. Furthermore implemented in three basic such as: Learning in the classroom/curricular; extracurricular and habituation in the classroom or outside of the classroom. As for implementation on evaluation phase implemented by two types that is on-going evaluation and ex-post evaluation. (2) Urgency of implementation of character education covers four points, that is: The means of planting tolerance as solution of disunity issue, an effort of multicultural education, implementation of vision and mission of PKn on building moral, and balancing as component of moral student. (3) A role of Junior High School 1 of Purwakarta is: (a) Implementing every technical program; (b) Provider of infrastructure for supporting every program; (c) Trying to create a free educational environment in worship and no any restrictions; (d) The party that tries on building a tolerance in the student's daily life; and (e) As a place to coach student character to improve the quality of graduates.
