Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya motivasi belajar siswa dalam pembelajaran tematik. Penelitian ini menerapkan model TGT yang bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan: (1) pelaksanaan pembelajaran dengan menerapkan model TGT untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar; (2) peningkatan motivasi belajar siswa dengan menerapkan model TGT. Penelitian yang dilakukan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan mengadaptasi model dari model Kemmis & Taggart yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas III semester genap di salah satu SD Negeri kecamatan Sukasari, kota Bandung tahun ajaran 2016/2017 dengan jumlah siswa sebanyak 30 siswa, yang memiliki karakteristik dan kemampuan yang berbeda-beda. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan menerapkan langkah-langkah TGT yaitu: (1) Penyajian kelas, (2) Kegiatan kelompok, (3) Permainan, (4) Pertandingan, dan (5) Penghargaan kelompok. Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan motivasi belajar siswa dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TGT. Pada siklus I menunjukkan bahwa persentase motivasi belajar mencapai 66% dengan kategori sedang, dan pada siklus II mengalami peningkatan sebesar 15% menjadi 81% dengan kategori tinggi. Peningkatan motivasi belajar juga berdampak positif pada peningkatan hasil belajar siswa. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model TGT dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa.;---This research is motivated by the low motivation of student learning in thematic learning. This research applied TGT model which aims to describe: (1) implementation of TGT model to increase learning motivation; (2) improvement of student learning motivation by applying TGT model. The research was conducted using Classroom Action Research (CAR) adapted from Kemmis & Taggart model which is implemented in two cycles. The subject of this research was 30 third graders students of elementary school at Sukasari district, Bandung city, academic period 2016/2017, who have different characteristics and abilities. The study was conducted by applying TGT steps: (1) Class precentation, (2) Teams, (3) Games, (4) Tournament, and (5) Team Recognize. The result of the research prove that students' learning motivation increased by applying cooperative learning model of TGT type. In cycle I showed that the percentage of learning motivation reached 66% referred to medium category, and in cycle II has increased by 15% to 81% referred to high category. Increased learning motivation also have a positive impact on student learning outcomes improvement. Based on the result of this research, it can be concluded that the application of TGT model can improve the students' learning motivation.
