Abstract

Penelitian ini didasari belum optimalnya kinerja kepala Sekolah Dasar Negeri di
Kota Bogor. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan keterlaksanaan
supervisi oleh pengawas sekolah, motivasi berprestasi kepala sekolah dan kinerja
kepala Sekolah Dasar Negeri di Kota Bogor, serta menganalisis pengaruh supervisi
oleh pengawas sekolah dan motivasi berprestasi kepala sekolah baik secara parsial
maupun bersama-sama terhadap kinerja kepala Sekolah Dasar Negeri di Kota
Bogor. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif,
dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah kepala Sekolah
Dasar Negeri di Kota Bogor yang berjumlah 118 orang dari jumlah populasi
sebanyak 236 orang kepala sekolah. Pengumpulan data penelitian menggunakan
kuesioner dengan skala likert.Teknik analisa data dalam penelitian ini
menggunakan teknik Weighted Mean Scored (WMS), pengujian hipotesis dilakukan
dengan menggunakan korelasi Pearson Product Moment untuk mengetahui tingkat
signifikansinya. Hasil pelaksanaan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kinerja kepala
Sekolah Dasar Negeri di Kota Bogor secara keseluruhan berada pada kategori
tinggi, pelaksanaan supervisi oleh pengawas sekolah secara keseluruhan berada
pada kategori tinggi, motivasi berprestasi kepala Sekolah Dasar Negeri di Kota
Bogor secara keseluruhan berada pada kategori sangat tinggi, supervisi yang
dilakukan oleh pengawas sekolah berpengaruh lemah namun berkontribusi positif
terhadap kinerja kepala sekolah, motivasi berprestasi kepala sekolah berpengaruh
lemah namun berkontribusi positif terhadap kinerja kepala sekolah, supervisi
pengawas sekolah dan motivasi berprestasi kepala sekolah secara simultan
berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja kepala Sekolah Dasar Negeri di
Kota Bogor. Perlu adanya peningkatan kompetensi baik untuk kepala sekolah maupun untuk pengawas.----------This research was based on the lack performance of the Elementary School’s
principals in Bogor. The purposes of this research were to describe the
implementation of the supervision by the school supervisors, the principal’s
motivation of achievement, the principal’s performance, and to analyze the impact
of supervision by the school supervisor and the principal’s motivation of
achievement towards the principal’s performance both partially and thoroughly.
The research used a deskriptif method within the framework of quantitative
approach. The samples were 118 principals from 236 population of the state
elementary schools in the City of Bogor. The data collection was collected by
questionnaires in likert scales. The data analysis used a Weighted Mean Scored
(WMS) technique, hypothesis test used a Pearson Product Moment Correlation to
find out the significancy. The results of the research showed that the overall
performance of the principal and implementation of supervison by the school
supervisors were overall categorized as high. The motivation of achievement was
overall in the category of very high. Furthermore, the supervision done by the
school supervisors was weakly influencing yet positively contributing to the
principal’s performance, the motivation of achievement was weakly influencing yet
positively contributing to the principal’s performance, the supervision done by the
school supervisors and the motivation of achievement simultaneously giving the
positive and significant impact on the principal’s performance. There is the need of
both principals and supervisors capacity building to enhance their competencies.
