Abstract
Penelitian ini bertitik tolak dari permasalahan kinerja kepala sekolah SDN di Kota Bekasi yang belum optimal. Hasil penilaian kinerja kepala sekolah oleh pengawas pada tahun 2013-2015 terhadap penilaian kinerja pengelolaan di SDN belum mengalami perubahan yang signifikan. Rata-rata pengelolaannya baru mencapai 86% dengan kualifikasi B. Sekolah yang berjumlah 70 yang telah terakreditasi B di SDN Kota Bekasi tidak mengunakan standar tinggi terhadap pencapaian kinerja. Mengacu pada kelemahan tersebut, peneliti tertarik untuk melakukan penelitian tentang pengaruh kompetensi, kompensasi, motivasi dan komitmen terhadap kinerja kepala sekolah SDN di kota Bekasi. Tujuan utama penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan gambaran empiris dan menganalisis pengaruh langsung dan tidak langsung variabel kompetensi, kompensasi, motivasi dan komitmen terhadap kinerja kepala sekolah SDN di kota Bekasi. Unit analisis kinerja kepala sekolah dan responden penelitian ini adalah guru dan kepala sekolah SDN di Kota Bekasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan menerapkan analisis jalur (path analysis) untuk menjelaskan dan menjabarkan kondisi masing-masing variabel secara rinci serta mengkaji hubungan kasualitas antar variabel penelitian. Sampel penelitian yang diteliti berjumlah 204 sekolah dengan responden penelitian sebanyak 204 guru dan kepala sekolah. Temuan penelitian ini adalah : (1) Gambaran kinerja kepala sekolah SDN di Kota Bekasi berada pada tingkat kurang, (2) Kinerja kepala sekolah dipengaruhi baik secara langsung dan tidak langsung secara signifikan oleh variabel kompetensi, kompensasi, motivasi dan komitmen kepala sekolah. Rekomendasi penelitian ditujukan kepada Dinas Pendidikan dan Kepala Sekolah adalah Dinas pendidikan perlu membuat kebijakan yang mengarah pada peningkatan kinerja kepala sekolah melalui penilaian kinerja kepala sekolah yang akuntabel dan berkelanjutan. Kepala sekolah perlu mengembangkan kegiatan yang mendorong pada peningkatan kompetensi, motivasi dan komitmen.;--- This research based on the problems of principals performance of government elementary school in Bekasi city is not optimal. The assestment result of principals performance of government elementary school in Bekasi city by supervisor in year 2013-2015 was not significant changes. Management of government elementary school in Bekasi city was only reached 86% with grade B. In government elementary school as much as 70 have not use high standard on performance achievement. Based on the empirical data, researcher has interest making the research about competencies, compensation, motivation and commitment to the performance of elementary school principals in Bekasi City. The main aim of the present study is to describe empirical description and to analyze how far the effect direct and indirect variable of competencies, compensation, motivation and commitment to the performance of government elementary school principals in Bekasi City. The subject and respondents of present study are teachers and principals of government elementary school in Bekasi city.. This study uses qualitative approach by applying path analysis to explain and describe each variable condition in detail and to examine the causality relationship between the variables. The research sample studied is the entire government elementary school in Bekasi City, calculated to as much as 204 schools with research respondents as many as 204 teachers and 204 principals. The result of the present research are : (1) description of principals performance in government elementary school in Bekasi City is low level, (2) performace of principals is influenced by direct and indirect variable of competencies, compensation, motivation and commitment of principals. The recommendation of this research to Educational board and principals are need making the policies about principals perfomance through assestment of principals with accountable and suistanable. Principal should develop many activities for stimulating achievement of competence, motivation and commitment
