Abstract
Fokus utama dalam penelitian ini adalah rendahnya tingkat partisipasi pemuda dalam kehidupan politik. Rendahnya tingkat partisipasi politik pemuda ini disinyalir terjadi karena kurangnya melek politik (political literacy) dikalangan pemuda. Hal ini dikaitkan dengan keberadaan siswa yang merupakan generasi penerus bangsa yang dalam hal ini berkedudukan sebagai pemilih pemula. Dalam hal ini, Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan berperan penting dalam meningkatkan melek politik siswa, sesuai dengan misi dan tujuan diselenggarakannya PKn. PKn merupakan sarana pendidikan politik formal. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan adanya variasi pembelajaran yang dilakukan oleh guru sebagai upaya untuk dapat mewujudkan kualitas pembelajaran yang baik. Optimalisasi variasi pembelajaran dalam pendidikan politik melalui PKn dapat diupayakan dengan menggunakan media pembelajaran komik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui tingkat melek politik siswa yang dilihat dari adanya perbedaan pengetahuan pengetahuan politik siswa, sikap politik siswa, dan keterampilan politik siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan suatu kuasi ekperimen yang menerapkan dua model pembelajaran yaitu pembelajaran dengan menggunakan media komik dan pembelajaran konvensional dengan menggunakan desain pretest-posttest control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa-siswa SMA Negeri Mojoagung, dan pengambilan sampel dengan purposive sampling, diperoleh siswa kelas XI MIPA 4 (kontrol) dan XI MIPA 5 (eksperimen). Untuk kepentingan analisis, masing-masing kelas diberikan pretest dan posttest untuk mengukur kemampuan awal siswa. Dengan menggunakan uji normalitas, homogenitas, perbedaan dua rerata dan uji N-Gain disimpulkan bahwa: (1) media komik berpengaruh terhadap pengembangan melek politik siswa, (2) tingkat melek politik siswa kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi daripada kelas kontrol, (3) terdapat perbedaan pengetahuan politik yang signifikan antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol, (4) terdapat perbedaan sikap politik yang signifikan antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol, (5) terdapat perbedaan keterampilan politik yang signifikan antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. It is caused youngest less understand about political literacy. This problem is linked with the existing of students which is as young voters for the next generation. Civic education has the central role for improving students’ political literacy which is suitable as mission of civic education. It is also as the facility of formal political education. Therefore, it needs variation in the learning process which is implemented by teacher as an effort to realize best quality of education. The optimization of educational variation in political learning by civic education can be implemented by using comics as the media of learning. Understanding of students’ political literacy which can be valued by the differences of students’ know-how, students’ political behaviour and their skills is the aim of this research. This research is as the quasi experiment which practice of two learning models. They are learning by using of comics as media and conventional learning by using pre-test and post-test control group design. The population is students of Mojoagung High School, and the collecting of sample by using purposive sampling which is put by second grade students of math and science class 4 as the variable of control and 5 as the experimentation. For analytical necessity, each class did pre-test and post-test to measure the beginning of students’ understanding. The using of normality experiment, , homogeneity, the deviation of two average and N-Gain test could take the result: (1) Comics is affecting against the development of students’ political literacy, (2) the stage of students’ political literacy in experimental class is highest than class of control, (3) It has differentiation of political knowledge which is significant between experimental class and class of control, (5) it has differentiation political skill which is significant between experimental class and class of control.
