Abstract
Penelitian mengenai kemampuan keputusan karir siswa SMP dilatabelakangi oleh banyaknya muncul fenomena siswa yang saat ini belum mempunyai kesiapan dalam merencanakan, kesiapan eksplorasi karir dan pengetahuan tentang membuat keputusan karir. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan program bimbingan karir yang efektif untuk dapat mengembangkan kemampuan keputusan karir siswa SMP. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode kuasi eksperimen. Desain penelitian ini adalah nonequivalent control group design dengan teknik purposive sampling. Sampel dalam penelitian ini yaitu 70 siswa kelas IX SMP Kartika XIX-2 Bandung tahun ajaran 2014/ 2015. Sampel dikelompokkan menjadi dua kelas yaitu 35 siswa untuk kelas eksperimen dan 35 siswa untuk kelas kontrol. Instrument yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu angket kemampuan keputusan karir. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa program bimbingan karir untuk mengembangkan kemampuan siswa menetukan karir terbukti efektif dengan adanya peningkatan pada kemampuan keputusan karir siswa secara umum yang terlihat di kelas eksperimen pada setiap aspek dan indikator. Rekomendasi penelitian ini ditujukan kepada berbagai pihak diantaranya; (1) guru bimbingan dan konseling dapat memanfaatkan hasil penelitian sebagai rujukan dalam mengembangkan program bimbingan karir di sekolah; (2) peneliti selanjutnya dapat mengembangkan program bimbingan karir pada jenjang pendidikan lainnya serta dapat mengembangkan kemampuan keputusan karir dengan desain penelitian yang berbeda. The research related to the career decision making ability of Junior High School students was based on a lot of emerging phenomenon of current students who do not yet have the readiness in planning, readiness in career exploration and the resources of making career decision. The purpose of this research was to create an effective career counseling program to develop students’ career decision making ability. This research applied quantitative approach with quasi experiment method. The design of this research was nonequivalent control group design through purposive sampling technique. This research took the sample of 70 students of class IX (Junior High School) SMP Kartika XIX-2 Bandung academic year of 2014/ 2015. The samples were split into two classes which were 35 students for experimental class and 35 students for control class. The instrument applied in this research was the questionnaire of career decision making ability. The research findings displayed that the career counseling program to develop students’ ability to decide their career was effective based on the increase of students’ ability in career decision making in general of the experimental class on each aspect and indicator. The recommendation of this research are addressed to several personnel, whihc are; (1) the teachers of guidance and counseling are able to take the advantage of this research as a source in developing career counseling program in school;(2) the future researchers are able to develop caree counseling program on the other levels of education and they are able to develop their ability in career decision making through different research design.
