Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan peserta didik terhadap keterampilan proses sains pada mata pelajaran IPA di sekolah dasar. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk dapat mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran project based learning dalam meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains peserta didik pada mata pelajaran IPA, serta mengetahui perbedaan antara model project based learning dan model konvensional terhadap kemampuan keterampilan proses sains peserta didik. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain Nonequivalent pretest-posttest control group design. Pupulasi dalam penelitian ini yaitu siswa sekolah dasar kelas III dengan sampel SD Negeri Paripurna dan SD Negeri Sirahcai. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari instrument tes bagi peserta didik, dan lembar wawancara bagi pendidik. Penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap keterampilan proses sains peserta didik pada mata pelajaran IPA sebelum dan sesudah melaksanakan proses pembelajran dengan menggunakan model project based learning dan terdapat perbedaan antara penggunaan model project based learning dan model konvensional terhadap keterampilan proses sains peserta didik diliat dari nilai rata-rata yang diperolehnya. Kelas yang menggunakan model project based learning memiliki pengaruh yang lebih tinggi dalam meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains peserta didik berdasarkan nilai-rata yang diperolehnya dibandingkan dengan kelas kontrol yang menggunakan model konvensional. ----- This research was motivated by the low ability of students to develop science process skills in science subjects in elementary schools. The purpose of this study was to be able to determine the effect of the project based learning model on improving students' science process skills in science subjects, as well as the difference between the project based learning model and the conventional model on students' science process skill abilities. This study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and a non-equivalent pretest-posttest control group design. The population in this study was composed of grade III elementary school students with a sample from SD Negeri Paripurna and SD Negeri Sirahcai. The instruments used in this study consisted of test instruments for students and interview sheets for educators. This study shows that there is a significant influence on students' science process skills in science subjects before and after carrying out the learning process using the project based learning model, and there is a difference between the use of project based learning models and conventional models on students' science process skills as seen from the average value obtained. The class that uses the project-based learning model has a higher influence on improving students' science process skills based on the average grades they get compared to the control class that uses the conventional model.
