Abstract

ABSTRAK PENGARUH PEMBELAJARAN REMEDIAL TERHADAP PENINGKATAN HASIL BELAJAR IPS SISWA KELAS VIII DI SMP NEGERI 10 BANDUNG Dita Nurazizah (1702348) Pembelajaran remedial merupakan upaya guru untuk siswa agar mampu mengembangkan diri seoptimal mungkin untuk mencapai kriteria keberhasilan minimal yang telah ditetapkan. Didasari oleh guru di SMP Negeri 10 Bandung yang sering menggunakan remedial sebagai salah satu perbaikan terhadap nilai yang didapatkan dalam sebuah ujian, namun perbaikan tersebut hanya memberikan soal yang sama tanpa memberikan pembelajaran tambahan (perlakuan) sesuai dengan karakteristik kesulitan belajar yang dialami, membuat siswa hanya mendapatkan nilai tambahan tanpa pemahaman baru. Sehingga perlu diadakannya penelitian mengenai pengaruh pembelajaran remedial terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar siswa. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan untuk mengetahui ketuntasan belajar siswa pada Penilaian Tengah Semester (PTS), pelaksanaan pembelajaran remedial, dan seberapa besar pengaruh pembelajaran remedial terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran IPS. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode experimental. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa tingkat ketuntasan belajar siswa pada Penilaian Tengah Semester (PTS) masih sangat rendah, sehingga diperlukan pembelajaran remedial. Adapun pelaksanaan pembelajaran remedial telah berjalan dengan baik dan telah mendapatkan hasil yang menunjukan Asympg Sig. (2-tailed) bernilai 0.000. karena 0.000 < 0.05 maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa “hipotesis diterima” yang artinya terdapat perbedaan yang nyata antara hasil belajar siswa mata pelajaran IPS pada data pretest dan posttest. Sehingga dapat dikatakan pembelajaran remedial memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap hasil belajar siswa mata pelajaran IPS. Kata kunci : pembelajaran remedial, hasil belajar, pelajaran IPS   ABSTRACT THE EFFECT OF REMEDIAL LEARNING TO IMPROVING SOCIAL STUDIES LEARNING OUTCOMES IN CLASS VIII AT SMP NEGERI 10 BANDUNG Dita Nurazizah (1702348) Remedial learning is a teacher's effort for students to be able to develop themselves as optimally as possible to achieve the minimum success criteria that have been set. Based on teachers at SMP Negeri 10 Bandung who often use remedial as one of the improvements to the scores obtained in an exam, but these improvements only give the same questions without providing additional learning (treatment) in accordance with the characteristics of learning difficulties experienced, making students only gain additional value without new understanding. So it is necessary to conduct research on the effect of remedial learning on improving student learning outcomes. This research was conducted to determine student learning completeness in the Mid-Semester Assessment (PTS), the implementation of remedial learning, and how much influence remedial learning has on student learning outcomes in social studies subjects. The method used in this study is a quantitative approach with experimental methods. The results showed that the level of student learning completeness in the Mid-Semester Assessment (PTS) was still very low, so remedial learning was needed. The implementation of remedial learning has been going well and has obtained results that show Asympg Sig. (2-tailed) is worth 0.000. because 0.000 < 0.05, it can be concluded that the "hypothesis is accepted" which means that there is a significant difference between student learning outcomes in social studies subjects in the pretest and posttest data. So that it can be said that remedial learning has a significant influence on student learning outcomes in social studies subjects. Keywords : remedial learning, learning outcomes, social studies
