Abstract

Layanan bimbingan akademik yang diberikan oleh Dosen Pembimbing Akademik (PA) akan didapatkan oleh setiap mahasiswa. Tujuan dari layanan bimbingan akademik diantaranya memberikan bimbingan dan ebrbagai bantuan kepada mahasiswa selama proses perkuliahan, supaya mahasiswa memiliki motivasi dalam masa perkuliahan. Motivasi berprestasi merupakan tujuan sukses atau berhasil yang diraih oleh orang lain atau diri sendiri untuk mencapai kesuksesan atau memilih kegiatan. Sementara, layanan bimbingan akademik merupakan layanan bimbingan yang diberikan oleh dosen pembimbing akademik kepada mahasiswa untuk membuat mahasiswa lebih mandiri dalam proses belajar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kontribusi layanan bimbingan akademik terhadap motivasi berprestasi mahasiswa di Program Studi Bimbingan dan Konseling. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 160 responden di Program Studi Bimbingan dan Konseling angkatan 2018 sampai 2021. Terdapat dua instrumen yang digunakan, instrumen pertama mengenai motif berprestasi yang dikembangkan oleh Laboratorium Psikologi Pendidikan dan Bimibingan Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (LPPB UPI) dan instrumen kedua mengenai layanan bimbingan akademik yang dibuat oleh Carol Heisserer (2017) dan diterbitkan oleh NACADA The Global Community for Academic Advising. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa layanan bimbingan akademik berkontribusi terhadap motivasi berprestasi mahasiswa bimbingan dan konseling di Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. Hal tersebut berkontribusi karena dari delapan aspek layanan bimbingan akademik, menunjukkan bahwa terdapat satu aspek yang berkontribusi terhadap motivasi berprestasi, yaitu aspek komunikasi yang dilakukan secara online maupun offline. Dengan demikian, peran dosen pembimbing akademik (PA) dapat membantu mahasiswa dalam proses pembelajaran akademik ataupun non akademik, agar mahasiswa dapat mencapai proses pendidikan di perguruan tinggi dengan baik. The purpose of academic guidance services includes providing guidance and various assistance to students during the lecture process, so that students have motivation during their lectures. Achievement motivation is the goal of success or success achieved by others or oneself to achieve success or choose activities. Meanwhile, academic advising is guidance services provided by academic advisors to make students more independent in the learning process. This research aims to describe the contribution of academic advising to student achievement motivation in the Guidance and Counseling Study Program. This study uses a quantitative research design with a descriptive method. Participants in this study were 160 students in the Guidance and Counseling Study Program class of 2018 to 2021. There were two instruments used, the first instrument regarding achievement motivation developed by the Educational Psychology and Guidance Laboratory of the Indonesia University of Education (LPPB UPI) and the second instrument regarding academic advising created by Carol Heisserer (2017) and published by NACADA The Global Community for Academic Advising. The results showed that academic advising contributed to the achievement motivation of guidance and counseling students at the University of Education Indonesia. This contributes because of the eight aspects of academic advising, it shows that there is one aspect that contributes to achievement motivation, namely the aspect of communication that is carried out online and offline. Thus, the role of the academic advisor (PA) can help students in the academic or non-academic learning process, so that students can achieve the educational process in university well.
