    Abstract

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang desain didaktis operasi hitung pengurangan bilangan cacah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman siswa kelas III sekolah dasar. Desain yang dikembangkan bertumpu pada learning obstacle. Peneliti merancang desain didaktis yang bertujuan agar dapat meminimalkan learning obstacle tersebut dan meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman siswa terhadap operasi hitung pengurangan bilangan cacah. Penelitian ini menggunakan Didactical Desain Research (DDR) dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Implementasi desain didaktis dilakukan pada siswa kelas III SDN Girilintang dan siswa kelas III SDN 1 Cigalontang masing-masing selama 3 pertemuan. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa desain ini cukup efektif untuk meminimalkan learning obstacle dan meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman siswa. Desain didaktis ini juga dapat dijadikan salah satu alternatif bahan ajar pada pembelajaran operasi hitung pengurangan bilangan cacah.
    This study aims to design a didactic design for whole number subtraction operations to improve the understanding ability of third grade elementary school students. The design developed is based on the learning obstacle. The researcher designed a didactic design that aims to minimize the learning obstacle and improve students' understanding of the operation of counting subtraction of whole numbers. This study uses Didactical Design Research (DDR) with data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. The implementation of the didactic design was carried out on the third grade students of SDN Girilintang and third grade students of SDN 1 Cigalontang for 3 meetings each. The results showed that this design was effective enough to minimize learning obstacles and improve students' understanding abilities. This didactic design can also be used as an alternative teaching material in learning arithmetic operations to reduce whole numbers.
