Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya pengetahuan awal mahasiswa tahun pertama di perguruan tinggi, karena dapat mempengaruhi keberhasilannya dalam proses penyelesaian studi di perguruan tinggi. Pengetahuan awal dalam penelitian ini adalah economic knowledge yang didapatkan dari pengalaman belajarnya sebelum memulai studi di perguruan tinggi. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh pengalaman belajar, asal daerah, jenis kelamin, jenis program studi, jenis sekolah dan status sekolah terhadap economic knowledge mahasiswa tahun pertama. Sampel dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 445 orang mahasiswa angkatan 2021 Fakultas Pendidikan Ekonomi dan Bisnis Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode survei eksplanatori dengan analisis regresi berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengalaman belajar, asal daerah, jenis program studi dan status sekolah berpengaruh terhadap economic knowledge mahasiswa tahun pertama, sementara jenis kelamin dan jenis sekolah tidak berpengaruh terhadap economic knowledge. Kata Kunci : Economic Knowledge, Pengalaman Belajar, Pengetahuan Awal ABSTRACT This research is motivated by the importance of prior knowledge of first year students in higher education, because it can affect their success in the process of completing studies in higher education. Prior knowledge in this study is economic knowledge obtained from his learning experience before starting his studies at university. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the learning experience, regional origin, gender, type of study program, type of school and school status on the economic knowledge of first year students. The sample in this study was 445 students of the 2021 batch of the Faculty of Economics and Business Education, Indonesia University of Education. The research method used is an explanatory survey method with multiple regression analysis. The results showed that learning experience, regional origin, type of study program and school status effect the economic knowledge of first-year students, while gender and type of school have no effect on economic knowledge of first year students.
