Abstract

ABSTRAK Kondisi yang menjadi dasar dari penelitian ini adalah kemampuan pemahaman matematis menjadi salah satu aspek kognitif yang harus dikuasai pada pembelajaran matematika. Siswa merasa kesulitan dalam memahami materi pelajaran matematika. Salah satu model pembelajaran yang dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan matematis siswa yaitu model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe make a match. Tujuan dari adanya penelitian ini untuk mengetahui apakah peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman matematis siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe make a match lebih baik daripada siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran konvensional dan mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe make a match terhadap kemampuan pemahaman matematis siswa. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian quasi eksperiment melalui desain nonequivalent control group design. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada subyek dengan jumlah 44 orang siswa kelas IV di salah satu sekolah dasar di Purwakarta, yang telah dipilih memalui teknik pengumpulan sampel purposive sampling. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan tes berbentuk essay dan dokumentasi untuk mengetahui kemampuan pemahaman matematis siswa. Kemudian data yang sudah didapat akan diolah menggunakan analisis deskriptif dan analisis inferensial. Perolehan penelitian menghasilkan peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman matematis siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe make a match lebih baik dari siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran konvensional dan terdapat pengaruh kemampuan pemahaman matematis dengan adanya penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe make a match. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe make a match dapat membantu siswa dalam memahami materi pembelajaran matematika khususnya pada kajian materi bangun datar. Kata Kunci : Kemampuan Pemahaman Matematis, Make a Match ----- ABSTRACT The condition that forms the basis of this research is that the ability to understand mathematics is one of the cognitive aspects that must be mastered in learning mathematics. Students find it difficult to understand the mathematics subject matter. One of the learning models that can be used to improve students' mathematical abilities is the make a match type of cooperative learning model. The purpose of this study was to determine whether the increase in the mathematical understanding abilities of students who received make a match cooperative learning was better than that of students who received conventional learning and to determine the effect of the make a match type of cooperative learning model on students' mathematical understanding abilities. The type of research used is quasi-experimental research through a nonequivalent control group design. This research was conducted on subjects with a total of 44 fourth grade students in one of the elementary schools in Purwakarta, which had been selected through a purposive sampling sampling technique. The research instrument used a test in the form of essays and documentation to determine students' mathematical understanding abilities. Then the data that has been obtained will be processed using descriptive analysis and inferential analysis. The results of the study showed that the mathematical understanding ability of students who received make a match type cooperative learning was better than that of students who received conventional learning and there was an effect of mathematical understanding ability with the application of the make a match type cooperative learning model. Based on the results of this study, the cooperative learning model of the make a match type can help students understand mathematics learning materials, especially in the study of flat shapes.
