Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memperoleh informasi mengenai efek mediasi self efficacy pada pengaruh sense of control dan smartphone addiction terhadap academic procrastination. masalah yang menjadi fokus penelitian ini adalah mengenai academic procrastination sementara teori yang mendasari penelitian ini adalah teori psikologi kognitif gestalk dari Wolfgang Kohler. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif metode survey dan instrument yang digunakan berupa angket yang disebar kepada mahasiswa FKIP Universitas Pasundan Bandung dengan Teknik cluster sampling dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 463 responden Teknik analisis menggunakan pendekatan asosiatif dengan alat ukur koefisien jalur (path analysis). Berdasarkan penelitian yang dilakukan diketahui bahwa terdapat pengaruh secara simultan antara sense of control dan smartphone addiction terhadap academic procrastination, sense of control berpengaruh positif terhadap self efficacy, smartphone addiction tidak berpengaruh negatif terhadap self efficacy, terdapat pengaruh secara simultan antara sense of control, smartphone addiction dan self efficacy terhadap academic procrastination, sense of control berpengaruh negatif terhadap academic procrastination, smartphone addiction berpengaruh positif terhadap academic procrastination, self efficacy berpengaruh negatif terhadap academic procrastination, sense of control berpengaruh signifikan terhadap academic procrastination melalui self efficacy, sense of control tidak berpengaruh signifikan melalui self efficacy, self efficacy tidak memediasi sense of control dan smartphone addiction secara simultan. Adapun saran pada penelitian ini adalah pada variabel sense of control mahasiswa harus meningkatkan pengendalian emosi, pada variabel smartphone addiction mahasiswa harus menurunkan toleransi, pada variabel self efficacy mahasiswa harus meningkatkan kemampuan dalam menghadapi situasi, sementara pada variabel academic procrastination mahasiswa harus meningkatkan keyakinan terhadap kemampuan diri. The purpose of this study was to obtain information about the mediating effect of self-efficacy on the effect of sense of control and smartphone addiction on academic procrastination. The problem that is the focus of this research is academic procrastination while the theory that underlies this research is the theory of gestalk cognitive psychology from Wolfgang Kohler. This study uses a quantitative approach to survey methods and the instrument used is a questionnaire distributed to students of FKIP Pasundan University Bandung with cluster sampling technique with a total sample of 463 respondents. The analysis technique uses an associative approach with path analysis. Based on the research conducted, it is known that there is a simultaneous influence between sense of control and smartphone addiction on academic procrastination, sense of control has a positive effect on self-efficacy, smartphone addiction has no negative effect on self-efficacy, there is a simultaneous influence between sense of control, smartphone addiction and self-efficacy on academic procrastination, sense of control has a negative effect on academic procrastination, smartphone addiction has a positive effect on academic procrastination, self-efficacy has a negative effect on academic procrastination, sense of control has a significant effect on academic procrastination through self-efficacy, sense of control has no significant effect through self-efficacy, self-efficacy does not mediate sense of control and smartphone addiction simultaneously. The suggestions in this study are the student's sense of control variable should improve emotional control, on the smartphone addiction variable students should reduce tolerance, on the student's self-efficacy variable should improve their ability to deal with situations, while on the academic procrastination variable students should increase their confidence in their own abilities
