Abstract
Kemampuan merancang eksperimen siswa pada pembelajaran inkuiri masih rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penggunaan pembelajaran inkuiri Home-Based Experiment dalam meningkatkan kemampuan merancang eksperimen siswa alternatif strategi pembelajaran e-learning yang memiliki prospek untuk dikembangkan pada pembelajaran jarak jauh berbasis inkuiri. Desain penelitian yang digunakan yaitu quasi experimental design dengan pre-test post-test non-equavalent group design. Sampel penelitian ialah siswa kelas X MIPA SMA, yang terdiri dari 32 siswa kelas eksperimen dan 30 siswa kelas kontrol. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian yaitu tes kemampuan merancang eksperimen yang berjumlah 7 soal esai, asesmen kinerja inkuiri dan angket respon siswa. Berdasarkan hasil temuan menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan merancang eksperimen siswa di kedua kelas tersebut tidak berbeda signifikan dengan nilai>0,05 (sig pre-test: 0,906 sig.post-test:0,320). Selain itu peningkatan kemampuan perindikator dari sebelum dan setelah tes berdasarkan nilai N-gain menunjukkan adanya peningkatan yang umunya berada pada kategori sedang serta siswa merespon pembelajaran dengan baik. Pembelajaran inkuiri dengan home-based experiment mampu meningkatkan kemampuan merancang eksperimen siswa dan menjadi alternatif pembelajaran inkuiri terutama praktikum yang tidak dapat dilaksanakan di sekolah. The ability to design student experiments on inquiry learning is still low. This study aims to analyze the use of Home-Based Experiment inquiry learning in improving the ability to design student experiments for alternative e-learning strategies that have prospects for development in inquiry-based distance learning. The research design used is quasi experimental design with pre-test post-test non-equivalent group design. The research sample was students of class X MIPA SMA, which consisted of 32 students in the experimental class and 30 students in the control class. The instruments used in the study were the experimental design ability test, which consisted of 7 essay questions, inquiry performance assessments, and student response questionnaires. The findings show that the ability to design experiments of students in the two classes is not significantly different with a value of > 0.05 (sig pre-test: 0.906 sig. post-test: 0.320). In addition, the increase in the ability of indicators from before and after the test based on the N-gain value showed an increase which was generally in the medium category and students responded well to learning. Inquiry learning with home-based experiment an alternative to inquiry learning, especially practicum that cannot be carried out in schools.
