Abstract
Di era globalisasi ini, seluruh lapisan masyarakat patut bertahan dengan kebudayaan negaranya sendiri. Tarian tradisional yang sudah ada dan dipertahankan secara turun temurun kian terkikis oleh kemajuan zaman. Penulis terinspirasi untuk mengangkat rumusan masalah mengenai proses dan eksplorasi teknik pull-up dan flap-book, dengan tujuan tercipta sesuatu bertema kebudayaan yang digemari anak-anak, sehingga mereka bisa menikmati karya sekaligus belajar dengan lebih menyenangkan. Dalam upaya tersebut, melalui karya Skripsi Penciptaan ini penulis mengangkat salah satu tarian tradisional khas Jawa Barat “Jaipong” yang dituangkan ke dalam bentuk Cerita Bergambar dengan teknik pengemasan pull-up dan flap-book berjudul “Ayo, Menari Jaipong dengan Nyi Iteung!”. Isi cerita bergambar ini merupakan pengenalan tari Jaipong secara garis besarnya. Penulis mengolah karya dengan berkiblat pada fotonovela, komik fotografi asal Meksiko, dengan melakukan tahapan di antaranya: proses penulisan naskah, pembuatan tokoh dan karakter, pengambilan foto, pengolahan digital yaitu pengaturan warna, tata letak, teks, kemudian melakukan pencetakan, penyusunan teknik pull-up dan flap-book, dan penjilidan. Ukuran karya 14,85 cm x 21 cm, jumlah halaman 20 dengan tambahan 6 halaman pendukung. Cerita bergambar ini ditujukan bagi anak berumur 7 hingga 12 tahun. Harapan penulis adalah semakin banyak masyarakat Indonesia yang pintar menyeleksi masuknya budaya luar ke Indonesia, semakin banyak juga tercipta buku-buku cergam anak bertema kebudayaan sebagai pembekalan dan pengenalan agar kebudayaan etnis tetap eksis. Kata Kunci: Menari, Jaipong, Nyi Iteung, cerita bergambar, ilustrasi. In this era of globalization, all levels of society should persist with their own country cultures. Traditional dances which existed and maintained from one generation to other generation are eroded by the progress of time. The writer was inspired to raise some issues regarding the process and the exploration of pull-up and flap-book technique, aiming to create something with cultural theme that attracts children, so that they are able to enjoy the creation and learn more enjoyable all at once. In this effort , through the creation of this thesis, the writer raised one of West Java traditional dances “Jaipong” which was poured into the form of illustrated story with pull-up and flap-book technique entitled “Ayo, Menari Jaipong dengan Nyi Iteung!”. In outline, the content of this illustrated is about an introduction of Jaipong dance. The writer processed this creation according to Fotonovela, photography comic from Mexico, by processing some steps including: the processing at script writing, making of figures and characters, images capturing, digital processing which is the setting of color, layout, text, and then printing, preparing pull-up and flap-book technique, and binding. The size of work is 14,8 cm x 21 cm, with 20 pages and 6 supporting pages. This illustrated story is intended for children aged 7 to 12 years. The writer hopes that there will be many more books selecting foreign cultures, there will be many more books of illustrated stories with cultural theme as provision and introduction in order to ethnic cultures still exist.
