Abstract

Keterampilan berpikir kritis dan sustainability consciousness merupakan kompetensi yang sangat diperlukan untuk menghadapi tantangan Abad 21 dan membentuk masyarakat dengan perilaku hidup berkelanjutan. Model PjBL-STEM dengan pendekatan ESD yang mendorong siswa untuk merancang dan membuat produk sebagai solusi dari masalah, diasumsikan dapat melatihkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan sustainability consciousness siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis adanya peningkatan pada keterampilan berpikir kritis dan sustainability consciousness siswa setelah diterapkan pembelajaran PjBL-STEM dengan pendekatan ESD pada materi pencemaran di sungai Ngringo. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah mix method model concurrent traiangulation dengan one group pretest-posttest design. Sampel dari penelitian ini berjumlah 22 siswa dari salah satu SMP di Kabupaten Karanganyar. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui lembar observasi, tes essay, angket, dan lembar judgment. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah: 1) keterlaksanaan pembelajaran untuk aktivitas guru dan siswa masing-masing 100% dan 92%, 2) terdapat peningkatan berpikir kritis dengan N-gain sebesar 0,31 dengan kategori sedang, 3) terdapat peningkatan pada Sustainability Consciousness (SC) dengan N-gain sebesar 0,15 masuk kategori rendah. Kata Kunci: PjBL-STEM, ESD, Keterampilan Berpikir Kritis, Sustainability Consciousness ABSTRACT The Effect of the PjBL-STEM Model with ESD Approach in Improving Critical Thinking Skills and Sustainability Consciousness of Junior High School Students on Environmental Pollution Materials Critical thinking skills and sustainability consciousness are competencies that are indispensable to face the challenges of the 21st century and shape a society with sustainable living behavior. The PjBL-STEM model with an ESD approach that encourages students to design and manufacture products as solutions to problems is assumed to be able to train students' critical thinking skill and sustainability consciousness. This study aims to analyze the improvement in students' critical thinking skills and sustainability consciousness after implementing PjBL-STEM learning with the ESD approach on pollution material in the Ngringo river. The research method used is a mix method with one group pretest-posttest design. The sample of this study amounted to 22 students from a junior high school in Karanganyar Regency. Data was collected through observation sheets, essay tests, questionnaires, and judgment sheets. The results of this study are: 1) the implementation of learning for teacher and student activities are 100% and 92% respectively, 2) there is an increase in critical thinking with N-gain of 0.31 in the medium category, 3) there is an increase in Sustainability Consciousness (SC) with N- gain of 0.15 which means it is in the low category.
