Abstract

Konsep arah kanan-kiri sangat penting untuk dipahami oleh anak tunagrahita ringan, sehingga diperlukan sebuah pengembangan media pembelajaran. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskreptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Data diperoleh melalui teknik observasi, wawancara dan studi dokumentasi. Data dianalisis dengan cara reduksi data , display data, dan penarikan kesimpulan serta verifikasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa guru telah menyusun silabus dan RPP secara tematik namun belum melakukan asesmen dan media yang digunakan masih sederhana. Rancangan pengembangan media terdiri dari buku panduan penggunaan media dan modeling video. Focus group disciuccion (FGD) menyimpulkan media ini dapat digunakan sebagai media pendukung dalam pembelajaran konsep kanan-kiri namun ada beberapa aspek yang harus diperbaiki. Hasil uji coba terbatas menunjukkan bahwa media ini sebagai salah satu alternatif membantu dalam proses pembelajara, menumbuhkan semangat belajar, senang dan tertarik mengkuti kegiatan pembelajaran konsep kanan-kiri. Peneliti merekomendasikan kepada guru dan siswa agar dapat menjadikan media modeling melalui video sebagai alternatif pilihan dalam pembelajaran konsep kanan-kiri. Sekolah perlu memfasilitasi guru dalam mengembangkan kreatifitasnya untuk menciptakan media pembelajaran yang inovatif. Understanding the concept of left and right is very important for children with mild intellectual disabilities, so that there needs to be a development of the instructional media. Data were gained through observation, interview, and documentary study. The data were then analyzed through data reduction, data display, and inference and verification. The results of the research showed that teachers had already compiled syllabi and lesson plans thematically, but there had not been any assessment done and the media used were still simple. This media developmental design consists of an instructional book for media use and video modelling. The Focus Group Discussion concluded that the media can be used to support the teaching and learning of left and right concept despite some needs for improvement. A limited test showed that the media were one of the alternatives to help the teaching and learning process, to cultivate enthusiasm for learning, and to develop interest and enjoyment in the teaching and learning activities of left and right concept. The researcher recommends that teachers and students use the modelling media through videos as an alternative for the teaching and learning of left and right concept.
