Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh permasalahan pembelajaran di SD Negeri 3 Cikalongwetan terutama pada pembelajaran IPA. Pembelajaran IPA di SD Negeri 3 Cikalongwetan sering menggunakan metode ceramah sehingga guru masih mendominasi yang mengakibatkan siswa kurang aktif, pembelajaran menjadi membosankan dan rendahnya kemauan siswa mengikuti pembelajaran. Serta kurangnya kegiatan eksperimen untuk melakukan uji coba suatu konsep IPA. Dengan kondisi demikian tentu akan berpengaruh pada motivasi belajar siswa. Melihat dari permasalahan tersebut, maka penelitian tindakan kelas dapat membantu dalam upaya perbaikan pembelajaran yaitu dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran POE (predict-observe-explain). Melalui model pembelajaran POE (predict-observe-explain), siswa dilibatkan langsung sehingga siswa aktif dalam pembelajaran serta pemahaman siswa terhadap konsep-konsep IPA dapat bertahan lama. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas dengan menggunakan model Kemmis dan Mc Taggart. Penelitian tindakan kelas ini terdiri dari dua siklus. Hasil penelitian dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran POE menunjukkan adanya peningkatan terhadap motivasi belajar dan hasil belajar siswa. Pada siklus I rata-rata motivasi mencapai 64,1% dengan kriteria cukup. Pada siklus II rata-rata motivasi menjadi 77,0 % dengan kriteria baik. Sedangkan hasil belajar pada siklus I rata-rata kelas mencapai 67,2 % dengan jumlah siswa yang belum tuntas sebanyak 26,6 % atau 12 orang dan jumlah siswa yang tuntas sebanyak 73,3 % atau 33 orang.Pada siklus II nilai rata-rata kelas siswa meningkat menjadi 78,1% dengan jumlah siswa yang belum tuntas 11,1 % atau 5 orang dan jumlah siswa yang tuntas sebanyak 88,8 % atau 40 orang. Dengan demikian, penerapan model pembelajaran POE pada pembelajaran IPA tentang alat peredaran darah manusia di kelas V dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar dan hasil belajar siswa. It often uses speech method, so that the teacher still dominate which caused the student do not active.This learning become boring and the low of student curiosity to follow the learning and the decrease of experiment activity to do the experiment of science concept. With this condition, it will infivence to student motivation of study seeing from the learning, so the action class research can help in repairing the learning is using learning model POE (predict-observe-explain). Learning model of POE (predict-observe-explain) the student dinvolved directly, so that the students active in learning and the understanding of students about science concepts can live for a long time. The research method that is used is class action research with use model Kemmis and Mc Taggard. This action class research consist of two cycles. The result of the research with applicating learning model POE show there is the increase to the student motivation and the result of student in study. At the first cycle, the average motivation reached 64,1 % with enough criteria. At the second cycle, the average of motivation became 77,0 % with good criteria. Whereas the result at the first cycle the average of the class reached 67,2 % with the sum of the students which did’nt finish 26,6 % or 12 people and the sum of students which finished 73,3 % or 33 people. At the second cycle, the average score of the class student in class increase became 78,1 % with the sum of student which did’nt finish 11,1 % or 5 people and the sum of student which did’nt finish 88,8 % or 40 people. So, the learning science about the equipment of human blood at the fifth grade can increase student motivation and the result study of student.
