Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan mengetahui kontribusi konsep diri terhadap kematangan karir siswa kelas XII SMK Negeri di Kota Cirebon. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif korelasional. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas XII SMK Negeri di Kota Cirebon Tahun Ajaran 2013/2014. Jumlah sampel yang diambil sebanyak 274 responden. Alat ukur yang digunakan berupa kuesioner konsep diri berdasarkan teori Hurlock dan kematangan karir berdasarkan alat ukur Career Maturity Inventory (CMI) yang dikembangkan oleh John Crites beserta koleganya. Hasil penelitian menjawab pertanyaan penelitian: pertama, gambaran konsep diri siswa kelas XII SMK secara umum berkategori positif. Kedua, gambaran kematangan karir siswa kelas XII SMK secara umum berkategori sedang. Ketiga, terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara konsep diri dan kematangan karir dengan koefisien korelasi positif sebesar 0,546 serta koefisien determinasi sebesar 29,81%. Diharapkan dari hasil penelitian ini, pihak sekolah meningkatkan pemberian bimbingan kelompok kepada siswanya seperti kelas bimbingan kelompok, kelompok diskusi, dan kelompok kerja yang berkenaan dengan perkembangan pribadi siswa serta informasi tentang karir atau pekerjaan. Kata kunci: Konsep Diri, Kematangan Karir, Siswa SMK This research aimed at describe finding out the contribution of self concept to career maturity on grade-12 voctional secondary school in Cirebon. It used quantitative approach with a descriptive correlational method. The sampling technique was Stratified Random Sampling. The population of this research were the whole grade-12 (year 2013/2014) students in Vocational Secondary School, Cirebon. The samples of this research were 274 respondents. The instruments used in this research were both the questionnaire of self concept based on Hurlock’s theory and career maturity inventory (CMI) developed by John Crites at all. The results were: firstly, the grade-12 students on Vocational Secondary School had positive self-concept, secondly the grade-12 students on Vocational Secondary School had average career maturity, and finally there was a positive and significant relationship between self concept and career maturity (r= 0,546), and the determinant coeffecient was 28,81 percent. The results suggested school improve group guidance to students by group guidance class, group discussion, and team work that deal with personal development.
