Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) menghasilkan soal yang dapat mengukur kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa SMA pada materi virus dan bakteri, (2) dan menggambarkan karakteristik soal yang dapat menilai kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi virus dan bakteri. Instrumen yang dikembangkan adalah tes objektif tertulis dalam bentuk tes pilihan ganda. Pengembangan soal untuk mengukur kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi virus dan bakteri ini menggunakan metode penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) Borg dan Gall. Langkah-langkah pengembangan yang diambil dalam penelitian ini, terdiri dari: (1) penyusunan item instrumen, (2) validasi dan revisi pakar, (3) uji keterbacaan, (4) uji lapangan terbatas, dan (5) uji lapangan utama. Pengembangan produk awal merupakan proses instrumen yang didasarkan pada analisis kebutuhan. Uji ahli atau validasi dilakukan oleh dosen ahli untuk menilai produk awal serta merevisi produk awal sesuai dengan saran para ahli. Uji lapangan terbatas dilakukan oleh 120 siswa dan uji lapangan utama dilakukan oleh 360 siswa kelas X konsentrasi IPA. Data diambil dengan menggunakan tes pilihan ganda berdasarkan delapan elemen dan 25 sub elemen berpikir kritis Inch et al. Instrumen ini digunakan untuk menangkap data dalam bentuk skor persentase siswa SMA materi virus dan bakteri. Skor persentase berpikir kritis siswa SMA adalah 70,7 %. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa pencapaian pemikiran kritis Inch pada siswa SMA di Bandung adalah baik. Berdasarkan hasil uji, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa soal tersebut sangat layak untuk digunakan untuk mengukur kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi virus dan bakteri. The study was aimed to: (1) produce a valid and reliable instrument to access critical thinking student on virus and bacteria material, and (2) describe characteristics instrument to access critical thinking student on virus and bacteria material. The developed instruments were written objective test in form of multiple-choice test. The development of the instrument to access critical thinking student on virus and bacteria material used the research and development (R and D) method Borg and Gall. The steps of the development taken in this study, consisting of: (1) instrument item drafting, (2) expert validation and revision, (3) anecdotal note test, (4) small-scale field tryout, and (5) large-scale field test. The preliminary product development was a process of making the instrument based on the needs analysis. The expert testing or validation was conducted by expert judgment to assess the preliminary product and to revise it based on their suggestions. The small- and large-scale field test were conducted by involving, respectively, 120 and 360 Grade X students concentration sains were three senior high school students in Bandung. Data captured by using a multiplechoice tests based on the eight elements and 25 sub-elements of Inch’s critical thinking. This instrument is used to capture data in the form of the achievement scores of high school students in Bandung to critical thinking on virus and bacteria material. Achievement of Inch’s critical thinking on high school students in Bandung is 70,7%. These results indicate that the achievement of Inch’s critical thinking on Senior High School students in Bandung is good. Based on the results of the test, it can be concluded that the instrument are very appropriate to be used as instrument to access critical thinking of student on virus and bacteria material.
