Abstract

Kemampuan bereksperimen dalam proses pembelajaran dapat
mempengaruhi penguasaan konsep fisika. Kemampuan ini ditafsirkan
sebagai kombinasi keterampilan dan pengetahuan konsep. Level of
Inquiry (LoI) memiliki tahapan sistematis, terstruktur dan dapat
diterapkan secara fleksibel ke berbagai dominasi peran siswa dan guru
sesuai dengan kondisi siswa serta diperkirakan dapat mengembangkan
kemampuan bereksperimen dan penguasaan konsep. Penelitian ini
dilakukan untuk mengidentifikasi perkembangan kemampuan
bereksperimen dan peningkatan penguasaan konsep getaran, gelombang
dan bunyi siswa setelah implementasi LoI dalam pembelajaran.
Penelitian ini menggunakan pre-experimental one group pretest-posttest
design yang melibatkan 152 siswa sebagai sampel dengan teknik
purposive sampling. Sampel dipilih dari populasi 304 siswa kelas VIII di
salah satu SMP negeri di Bandung. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam
penelitian ini adalah lembar kerja siswa (LKS), tes uraian penguasaan
konsep dengan nilai reliabilitas 0,73 (tinggi) dan lembar observasi
penerapan LoI. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji-t, analisis kurva normal
dan gain dinormalisasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, penerapan LoI dapat
mengembangkan kemampuan bereksperimen dan meningkatkan
penguasaan konsep siswa pada topik getaran, gelombang dan bunyi.

Experimental abilities in the learning process could affect the mastery of
physics concept. This ability is interpreted as a combination of knowledge
and skills of the concept. The Level of Inquiry (LoI) has a systematic,
structured stage and can be applied flexibly to various roles of students
and teachers in accordance with the conditions of students and is expected
to develop the ability to experiment and concept mastery. This study was
conducted to identify the development of the experimental ability and
students sound wave concept mastery improvements after the
implementation of LoI in learning. The study used pre-experimental one
group pretest-posttest design, wich involved 152 students as sample by
purposive sampling technique. The sample selected from population of
304 VIII class students in one of public junior high school in Bandung.
Instruments used in this study were students worksheet (LKS),
descriptive concept mastery test with reliability value 0,73 (high) and
observation sheet of LoI implementation. Data were analyzed using t-test,
normal curve analysis and normalized gain. Based on the results,
implementation of LoI can develop experimental ability and improve the
students concept mastery of sound wave.
