Abstract

Mikrokontroler yang telah berkembang dan beredar luas di masyarakat saat ini memiliki peran penting dalam perkembangan di berbagai bidang. Salah satu peran tersebut yaitu sebagai media pembelajaran yang banyak dipelajari di universitas, politeknik, lembaga pendidikan nonformal, serta di sekolah menengah kejuruan teknologi. Saat ini terdapat berbagai media mikrokontroler yang memiliki bahasa pemrograman berbeda. Beragamnya bahasa pemrograman yang ada dapat menjadi salah satu faktor untuk mendasari pemilihan media mikrokontroler. Penelitian ini membandingkan hasil belajar siswa dalam menguasai materi dua bahasa pemrograman mikrokontroler yang berbeda,yaituArduino dan AT89S51. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kombinasi (Sequential Explanatory Mixed Methods) dengan desain penelitian Posttest Only Control Group Design. Hasil penelitian menunjukan terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar berdasarkan penggunaan kedua mikrokontroler. Rata-rata hasil belajar siswa menggunakanArduino lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan AT89S51. Hal tersebut juga didukung hasil angket yang menunjukan tanggapan siswa lebih setuju pada penggunan Arduino dibanding AT89S51;---Microcontrollers which have developed and revolved widely in society today have an important role in the development of various fields. One of this roles is as a learning media that is widely studied in universities, polytechnics, non-formal educational institutions, as well as in technology vocational high schools. There are various microcontroller that have different programming languages. The diversity of existing programming languages can be one of the factors to underlie the selection of microcontroller. This study compared the learning outcomes of students in mastering the material of two different microcontroller programming languages, namely Arduino and AT89S51. The research method used was a combination method (Sequential Explanatory Mixed Methods) with the Posttest Only Control Group Design. The results showed that there were differences in learning outcomes based on the use of both microcontrollers. The average learning outcomes of students using the Arduino are higher than the AT89S51. It was also supported by the results of a questionnaire that showed the students' responses were more amenable to the use of the Arduino than the AT89S51.
